How much is 30fps?
Well lot ago i asked if my pc can play FFX, my specs are:
-Am3 mobo -XFX 8600gt ddr2 512mb -AMD 64x2 4200 -1gig ram corsair ddr2 800mhz(gonna buy another gig soon) and a guy told me that i can run FFX at 30 fps? so how much is 30 fps? half speed? or what? |

pretty much indeed. when using ntsc, full speed is 60, pal is 50fps

It depends on region of the game. For PAL full speed is 50fps and for NTSC it's 60fps.

And playing a game at half-speed on the PS2 is not enjoyable buddy, so you may not like what you see. I'd imagine you get more than 30 though, those specs aren't to bad for FFX.

Well...FFX is pretty much one of the lowest requirement 3D games, you'll probably get 40 or more depending on the scene...some will be pretty slow though.
2D games should be no issue for you though.

Yes, those games you will have no problems playing, at all. Perfect 60FPS.

Actually Shining Tears gets 6.5 FPS on my system, my system is on the higher end so I think some 2d games have problems playing on PCSX2.some 2d games may work but I was using PCSX2 0.9.4/0.9.5 beta with GSdx (or ZeroGS they are both slow) and nothing gave me a speed increase.

Properly emulated 2D games should run full speed, that's what we're talking about.

Not so far in the way of "repairing" as its improving the code to better work with it.
