I just tried once when the game was released and i had to use SStates.

First of all thx all for the support to SH Origins, i have the European version(dc180a6b), without patch the game freeze at the first screen load, using the Prafull patch the game freeze in the second screen with the notice "This game contains images that could be considered violent and disturbing", but someone is playing with this patch, what's wrong for me? thx all

Well, let me sum up my experience here so far.

Patch allows me past the "loading" screen. Turning off the speed hacks allows me past the ratio screen. But not even using the null audio allows me past the "violence warning screen". Using the (U) version. Any thing else we can try?

keep trying again and again(using peops sound plugin)..it will work eventually, then make a savestate at menu screen for future use.

Finally it work with the european version!! I mounted the image on daemon tool and used the peops cdvd 1.3.0 plugin setting on it the daemon tool virtual drive, it's important to use the pcsx2svn377.exe and not pcsx2tsvn377.exe, set the speed hacks "Disable forced ABS" and "EE/IOP sync hack". How say Prafull if the game doesn't start the first time retry again and at the end the warning violence screen will be defeated :P it's important to use the Prafull patch DC180A6B and use the PEOPS sound plugin. I love you Prafull

Almost there. I did everything listed here. At least now, thanks to using PEOPS sound plugin, I can get past the Violence Warning screen, but now, it keeps on freezing when I select "New Game". I'm using the patched american version. Doh!!

are you using the Peops CDVD plugin with daemon tool? Anyway sometimes the game crash to me too in the game menu, but trying again it start, i don't know if it's the same thing in the US version, anyway without sound Silent hill isn't playable, i think that in this game the sound is too important.

I did mount it as you described. Yeah, I think I'll hold off until emulation gets better. I could play it on my actual PS2, but I'd prefer to run at the higher res and with my X360 controller.

Plus I need to finish 3 and then buy 5 next month! Damn, I love Silent Hill! Creepist s--- around.

for me it works.. exept for the sound and some imperfect graphics but it works i enjoy very much! i've just turn off the speed hacks to pass the first screen. then save state and turn on the hacks and load. the game run! now i hope foe a new plugin for the ingame sound!

Yes without sound it's i think fully playable at full speed, but the sound is in my opinion the 80% of Silent Hill :P

yea true.. without the strange noises and the music is not silent hill!

sorry to post on a old thread but how do you apply this patch file , i dont mean creating a patch but applying the patch to psx2 to make silent hill orgins work?

Download the patch file for your version of the game and put it in patches folder then enable patches under Misc. pcsx2 settings and hopefully it will work.
