Proper way to close program in fullscreen?
I've been playing Disgaea 2, and it's been running flawlessly, but I just have one stupid question. I'm not really sure how to close the program properly when I'm running it in fullscreen.
I usually just use alt+f4 when I'm done, but this produces some weird problems. Unless I reboot my computer, the next time I try to play the game I get weird little graphical glitches, and for some reason it sometimes resets my CPU settings to unlimited FPS (which is sort of a pain in a game like Disgaea, if you don't like to hear dialogue spoken at 2x the normal speed). I've tried using the escape key, but that's caused my computer to lock up in the past... When I play in windowed mode, it seems fine. I can just close the window behind the actual game window, with the scrolling text, and that seems to do a nice clean job. Is there some keyboard shortcut or something to safely exit the program in fullscreen though? |

Happens to me too, using gsdx (dunno if it's pcsx2 or gsdx fault)
If I use ALT-F4 the emu interface disappears, but pcsx2 is still running in the background (this is probably why it gives problems if you try to rerun it, because the 2 instances of the program probably conflict) If I press esc, a black screen appears, but I cant use alt-tab or the win key to ecape it. The solution I found is: press ESC to bring up the black screen, then press ALT-F4 once to close the emulator. This works for me, even if it still gives me a crash sometimes (rarely thou...) |

ALT + TAB, it'll crash it. Strangely enough, Full Screen mode in GSdx works in DX10 mode, but not in DX9.

F4 key is the key that switches the Framelimit option.
so you're getting problems because the emulator is probably switching to VU skip or Frameskip when you press F4. the best way to close the emulator is to press Esc key, and then it will lock-up, then just press Alt-F4 and it should exit nicely. that way it dosn't switch the framelimit option.

ALT+TAB is the best solution for me. Sure it gives an error after that but big deal. Better this than reboot the PC after presing ESC. Also I've noticed that 1280x1024 in Fullscreen mode runs better than 1280x1024 in Window mode. It looks to me that in Fullscreen games run faster. The good thing is that in fullscreen mode you can choose resolution 320x200 while in Window mode the lowest res i 512x512. But when I play on so low resolutions the sounds is a bit repeated or something. So I checked Real Time mode on the sound plugin(I'm using ZeroSPU2 0.4.4) and it's fine. Overall if someone's machine is slow he can play the game on minimum resolution in fullscreen mode and unchecked Texture Filtering, Logarithmic Z and Pixel Shader 2.0.
