A Intel processor from Core 2 and up.

Only a few extra instructions.

Correct. If your current processor doesn't support SSSE3, your only option is to buy one that does.

One version of GSDX is the only part of the emulator that uses those instructions, so unless you're rolling in cash I'm not sure it is worth buying a brand new processor just to get SSSE3.

More something you`d get to play Crysis or some other current gen pc game to play better, than pcsx2.

Don't count on big speed increases just with sSSE3. Even Gabest couldn't tell if it was faster
You'll see more fps by using a overclocked core2duo (preferably one of the 8xxx series).

i saw some big FPS differences in the little testing i've done with my brother's intel q6600.
some parts of the game nothing changed, but some parts i got like 5~20fps increase in FFXII...

it also explains why people with a C2D @ 2.6 can get full speed in DMC, and i get 40FPS with an X2 @ 2.9Ghz.
yes C2D's are faster than AMD chips, but that dosn't explain a 20FPS difference.

Buddy, on a E8400 @ 4.0GHZ, 600MHZ more than mine, RPG gamer gets almost DOUBLE FPS in all games(PCSX2 at least). It's his chip, it's built all around better.

Depends on the game, can't give you a "OK! you will!'

Good machine though, I'm sure you'll get playable speeds in any game(That is properly emulated, that is)
