Game freezes

Mana Khemia freezes when you start new game. Anyone got any solutions?
I know this isn't happening to me only DKAngel had the same problem on a post.

I have the same problem, don't know of any way to get by it. none of the alternate graphical options i tried worked so its probably a problem with the the emu/game itself. only way around it i would imagine is someone coming up with a patch to skip the whole intro after newgame.

Try by transferring a save from your PS2 memcard to the PCSX2 and see if that works. It might have problems like Romancing SaGa where it poops out at like two things, but otherwise it is fine.

i have tried absolutly everything to try and get it working from using every svn i could bother compiling to every plugin i could find, it just wont pass the 4th sentance of the begingin of the game will try and get a savegame of my ps2 later and see if that works

now to find how to get memcard from ps2 to memstick and onto pc

Using a save from a PS2 you can bypass the opening movie and the game runs. Good news and bad news time though
Bad News - The text in the game only shows up as black boxes on GSDX 1.7 and ZeroGS 0.97
Good News - the SVN GSDX 1.8 will display the text properly (Rev 745 is what I used)

The save game is attached, the SVN you can find yourself.

And the emulator locks up when you go "off campus". Ah well it goes in game at least . If anybody figures out how to fix let me know.

If anyone is still interested i've found a way to go "off campus". You have to turn off EERec and then click "off campus" it will be terribly slow but don't freeze.

After you turn off EERec to get "off campus" you can turn it back on and play as normal. You'll have to repeat that step everytime.

But the game isn't able to be finished, I get a crash at the beginning of Chapter 4. It's where Flay is about to explain chain attacks.

Really? I got through that section just fine, are you using the new beta release with the updated IPU? Aside from being a little slow the game works great on it, although when I pause the game to turn off the EERec and resume the sound is completely screwed up so I have to restart the emulator to get it back to normal.

I tried it again with the new version, it still crashed.

But I later changed the party formation to include flay initially and then it worked. It's really really weird. Must be some strange coding to force a party member switch or something.

Wow, that's odd. Oh well guess as long as you managed to get past that part and continue further into the game.

Just try with pcsx2 0.95 beta svn 377, plugin gsdx 1.8 and zerogs 0.97.1, gigacdvd? (not sure i must recheck to my comp), sound plugin gigahearz 1.9. This game is fine, working great but if i use gsdx 1.8 this movie have some bug but with zerogs just fine, until i save the game, not working just failed. Almost forgot, i use patch by dista_bagus in this thread. Is something wrong? with plugin or something else i didnt have clue. Maybe i will take look back.

Not to mention that this thread is more than 2 months old and the last post were before 4 weeks,also that problem for this game is solved long time ago
