hmmm... why dont you try to convert your pal dmc1 to ntsc (vfix), maybe that will work...it's just a suggestion though, since i dont have a PAL version of DMC1

looks like ref is interested in fixing PAL dmc1, well i just hope that if a fix/update for that game will be released soon, other games will benefit from it too

It confuses the hell out of me too. AFAIK all my files are in order, theres no scatches on the actual dvd, and I use the latest svn releases. If I`m doing something wrong I`d be very surprised.

Here is what I get using Hockland's dump. Already got past that Capcom logo and ran out of blocks. Now the problem either is coz of bios incompatibility or Hocakland's pc is fecked.

hmm okay ill try it tonight, my bios is PAL (as its my ps2's), the only possible thing i can think of it being is because the way pcsx2 initializes, it auto goes in to NTSC mode.

trying via the bios using run->execute might be a temporary solution, other than that ill have to see if implementing something to recognise the bios region will help.

BTW just read that in his log which isnt there in my log "FIX ME: Level 2 cpuException" ??? Anything to do with this?

nope, i dont even know if that works properly i presume it does, thats something i did a while ago and never confirmed if id done it correctly or not.

Hmm.. I tried to run it through BIOS (just out of curiousity) and now it hangs and now it gives that FIX ME: Level 2 cpuException message as well. So looks like all the time Hockland has been trying to run it from bios only. LOL... If thats true.. What a joke.

For all i've known, with my version, the ntsc one,the only way to play it, is to madly press all skip buttons (start/X/O) till the game starts, otherwise it goes to 132870 fps at the end/start of any movie.

i have the NTSC version.
so the problem is that it dosn't get past the capcom logo?

I'm surprised I did not mention this earlier. Eragon worked with the 0.9.4 but it does not work with any beta release above svn239(that's the earliest beta I have). In .9.4 you could go in game but now the game boots into a black screen.(I'm using the same plugins for each svn and release).

just wanted to say that sega superstar tennis ntsc is playable but has alot of graphical errors didnt see this on the compat list

Breath of Fire V work at 330, but when load savestate only visible characters and monsters, surrounded by dakness. When change area, graphic fixes. If load memory card fist, then savestate, graphic shown, but corrupted; fix same.
At 342-343 savestates load normally, but game sometimes freezes after using any skill (attack) in combat.

I`ve never been able to work out why it says NTSC at the framelimiter bit there. 2 seconds later it will mention its running in PAL so I never paid any attention it it + all other games run without issue.

What you mean by running the game from the bios only? I run the game directly from the emulator via the run -> execute way. In the case of DMC1 I have the file ripped as an iso, and have that linked up to linuxappz iso dvd thingo.

Oh no. I cant believe it was that. Grrrr. I figured out what you meant by "running it from bios". You meant running it via the run - > execute way. I`ve been running every single last game that way for a good while now. Ever since I read in a thread a while back, that the best way to run all games especially iso`s was from that way, rather than the File -> Run CD/DVD way.

Anyways soon as I worked out what you meant, I ran it and it worked perfect and the movies ran absolutely perfect every single last time. Grrrr. What the hell.

I then went and tested some other games via the File -> Run CD/DVD way and they just ran the way they always did, without any difference. So only DMC1 has a problem via that method. Thats just bizare.

thats his point, you should use File-> Run CD/DVD unless the game refuses to boot. in DMC's case its the other way round, only Run CD/DVD works.
