if i'm ever bored w/ alot of spare time i might do something like that... of course, then i'd have to host it on youtube or something.. and i hate youtube (the quality of the videos look like they were taken w/ a cellphone..)you might be able to run Disgaea at ok speeds, but most games would run pretty slow. that processor is alot slower than core 2 duos, even though its a dual core.

rofl phil @ the icon.
at first glance, thought u were refraction. and yeah the pentium D processors have a different architecture so they're not as fast. anyone who has that processor should give up on trying to run 3d games on PCSX2

but theres still hope,
since pentium D processors use the LGA 775 slot, you can easily upgrade to a core 2 duo without having to buy a new motherboard. (but that will still cost some money...)

Add this
"Persona 3 will indeed save, even though it says it failed to save on memory card, if you check, it actually has saved" I found this out in frustration when I couldn't save, but so I tried to save a second time and noticed a save file existed, this is using the 0.9.5 series lineup, not sure about 0.9.4

yeah i was going to add that cuz i figured it out after playing around with the save screen,
but been too lazy to update just because of that ![]() i'll add it tomorow to save, you have to repeatively click save, then it will finally make a game save. but the save will say "player lvl 0, play time 0hours..etc.." so then you have to save over that file, and overwrite it. and it saves the game for real. a bit of a pain though. i still just use quick-saves in that game since its easier.

Really? It doesn't do that for me, and Quick Saves will often error a game
When I click save, it says something about no memory card, but if I click SAVE again, I notice it's been saved, it has my stats, levels, ectera, all that. I'm not sure what you are doing wrong, but I'm using 0.9.5 with it. I use Save States only during battles where I'm unsure if it'll freeze or not, which happens alot in Persona 3:P Make sure to make notes about all this stuff, this guide is worthy of being stickied just for it's Special Game fixes section, or merged with the current.

First of all very nice guide, thanks.
Anyway i'm writing here because i had a problem launching pcsx2.... When i started pcsx 2 for the first time to format the memcards, it crasches immediatly before the ps logo. I had to switch to "GSdx9 (MSVC 14.00, SSE2) 0.10.0" , because the problem was given by SSE3 (in the windows crash window). This thing is strange because i have a: -double core duo 6850 -sapphire radeon HD3870 (support 10.1) After changing the graphics plug-in everything work properly. Just telling to let you know the problem, if this can help you to improve this amazing emulator. HOLA! |

I forgot one thing.....
In the guide it sad "under framelimiting, select Limit and type "75" (this limits emulation speed to 75fps which is nice for RPGs, you can also select 60fps if you want it running at normal speed)" But i can't find where to to type 75... ??? It only asks about normal and limit, and for limit the "frame skip" and "VU skip" options.... I'm asking this because trying to play DragonQUest8 it goes [always except some moment] at 22-33 fps and it's too slow.... (with relative sound problems) |

That won't be fixed with selecting a custom 75, if you get that FPS, you're stuck with it.

Hey guys,
I'm trying to run tekken 4 + 5 on pcsx2 and i've done exactly as this thread says set it all up, configuring the cpu, gfx etc like this says. Tekken 4's framerate is quite decent at around 30fps but i'm getting some graphics issues (thin black lines down the screen and eyes coming out of peoples faces :/ [textures overlapping]). My pc is pretty top notch beats the 'optimum requirements' so i'm just wondering if anyone knows what the smeg might be going on! Cheers Last edited by Emjay; March 20th, 2008 at 14:38. |

Well, for the heck of it, list your specs anyways, we might discover something that could help.
List plugin configuration, versions of the plugins, and emu version, along with emu options enabled, we need ALL this information, not a brief over-view.

Ok, PC specs:
2Gb Ram Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT 512 MB AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual-Core - 2.8GHz (maybe actually a tad slow for emulating?) I'm using the following Plugins: GSdx (MSVC 15.00, SSE2)0.1.7 P.E.Op.S SPU2 1.9.0 linuzapps iso Graphics cfg: Direct 3D9 hardware Pxl shdr 2.0 Interlacing = None Aspect ratio is 4:3 Internal res 800x600 Nloop hack (grey tick) Texture filtering (black tick) alpha correction (black tick) Sound cfg: medium volume no reverb gaussian interpolation I'm running the new beta pcsx2 but i've tried it on 0.9.4 aswell, formatted the memory cards in the ps2 bios and enabled 'MTGS' mode and dual core mode for the cpu Last edited by Emjay; March 20th, 2008 at 15:07. Lol, you said Top Notch and beats the Optimum requirements, but optimum is 4.0GHZ...
Anyways, you got a 8800GT, set that res to something like 1280 x 1024 for some kickass graphics and no slowdown. Use Pixel Shader 3.0, and use ZeroSPU2 with Time Scaling, make Texture filtering a "Grey" box, and use F5 to cycle through Interlacing modes during the game itself. Like said, your CPU is actually weak, but ok for all 2D games, and some low-requirement 2D games...if you can OC that...performance will increase, slightly...right now AMD is a bad choice, sadly. Other than that, good luck!
