May I ask which reason makes most Xenosaga series still can`t be played

0.9.4 version has great improved,but I wonder which reason makes most Xenosaga games still can`t be played~~

Many games are not compatible, while the release improved many games status, some are unchanged, or mildly changed. As they dont focus on any set title (or take requests) it could be awhile before its playable. Until then just stick to your PS2.

None of them have a status worse than ingame, so there doing all right compared to many other titles.

the only problem with xenosaga games is that they are slow. The game engine has a particular way of rendering that interleaves specular and normal polygons. This makes zerogs flush the pipeline very often, thus leading to very slow gameplay. There is also some timer issues, which are yet to be fixed.

Other than that, Xenosaga I should be pretty playable

i tried xenosaga episode 1 (NTSC US Version)

After i select new game, pcsx2 goes in loop with black screen and no sounds.

I tried all audio plugins, and all video plugins

I use dual core mode.

Is there particular settings to use?

tryed XENOSAGA1 all ok full speed but there is no text in some ingame menus, zerogs options useless.. but if you hit and don't release F7 (wireframe mode) you can view some text.
btw PCSX2 x32 installer!! as x64 is not yet give any good result s for me( gfx missing etc..)

do you read directly from cd using peps plugin or do you use an iso image?

Pcsx2 does not contain enough magic to make Xenosaga playable, sorry.

i can confirm that using daemon-tools + pops plugin it' s ok.

Game is playable, only some minor graphic problem (maybe my pc )

With my athlon 64 x2 @ 2500 mhz i get 9-10 fps in-game.

With your config do you get similar fps?

After the initial (kosmos introduction) scene the game runs quite well actually.
What keeps it from being enjoyable is the missing text in battles and the fmv desynch.
It runs at ~50fps on my 3.44Ghz C2D.

if you sound desync, you shouldn't have any if you are using zerospu2

i'll work on getting text in battles to appear (since this happens to be one of my favorite games)

i just forgot is it xenosaga or frontmission in ps1 version where ingame internet minigame(i just loved it) ??
Thnx zero duh i hate to say this but you are great because you provide so much entertainment to ppl
if you have more time&will plz check FrontMission4 too
i don't know loop-hung caused by zeroGS or pcsx2 itself(btw switching antialias modes ingame(1st training battle) randomly caused full textures missing).
just checked xenosaga I
config default (+interlace/MGTS/DC)
19fps movie , VirtualTraining 12-19fps without ppl, running around 2ppl 14-16fps
but i have memory now set to DDR266/CPU at stock speed 1800-2010mhz(note 2x512kb L2 cache) and quite untuned pc and pcsx2 .. so i hope 34 or more fps is possible.

Oh yes please! If FF is the commander in chief of PS2 then Xenosaga is like the lieutenant and it would be a big plus for PCSX2 to emulate it. I finished the series one year ago and I'm planning to replay it on my PC on native 1080p if possible (I have two 8800GTs, one Quad @ 3.6GHz and a 40 incher full HD for gameplay )

There is text in Xenosaga (Ep.1) with GsDx9 but only 2-3 fps on my config (Athlon X2-6000) and about 30 fps on ZeroGS and unfortunately no text visible during the game only within FMVs. So could u please Zerofrog make some adjustments so we can play this beautiful game correctly?

I have C2D(6750), but only 20 fps ingame, it's not playable. How rama2 get 50? And in compatibility list SCAJ30001(J) - playable, but SLUS20469(U) - ingame. Why is it so? I have US version. No one checkbox in Zerogs plugin settings not speed up the game.
PS: Will PCSX2 significantly faster on C2Q?

no. pcsx2 will still only use 2 cores even if you have a quad
