Project Zero PAL-E (SLES-50821) Computer specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ 1024MB RAM DDR2 667mhz Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT 256MB PCI-E Windows XP Professional Edition SP2 Status: Ingame Speed: 30-60fps Pcsx2 Configuration: PCSX2 0.9.5 (SVN 222) VM 32-bit CPU options MTGS on DC mode on Graphics: ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.97.1 Configuration: Interlace off, no AA. No Target Resolves. Resolve Hack #1. No Color Clamping. No Vertical Stripes. Default Window size: 800x600 Sound: ZeroSPU2 0.4.4. Time Scaling Enabled, rest untouched. Cdvdrom: P.E. Op. s. CDVD (CDDA mod) 1.3.0 Interface: W2k/XP option set. BIOS: Europe V02.00 (14/06/2004) Notes: I ran the game from the original disc. Too lazy to make an image... Might do that later. Unlike Project Zero 2: Crimson Butterfly and Project Zero 3: The Tormented, which just go up to the menus, you can actually get in game here. However, I only got from 6 to 11 fps with the default configuration of ZeroGS. When I started playing with the options (which you can see above) the speed dramatically increased at most sections, ranging from fullspeed at some rooms and 30fps at the mirror/rope hallway. Average is between 30-45/50... quite erratic I must say, dunno how this game handles things or if it's my comp. There are some minor glitches while trying to display the ghosts (they appear blocky or just flicker bad). Some artifacts or garbage can also pop up randomly, no big deal. Really "in game"? Yes... Maybe it was the fact that I was using the DVD or that we still have to wait for increased compatibility or a patch or something but, apparently, you can't get past to the moment you face the first ghost (after seeing the Takamine cutscene). I got a big badass "Unknown Vifcmd:18" something error, which as far as my search showed, it's an impossible-to-bypass error or something... Sadly, my knowledge is little. Well, so far it looks pretty good and nice. I'm gonna test it with GSdx9 later just in case. Hope all this nonsense helps. Snap007.jpg shows the moment before Pcsx2 crashed. Anyway, I'm impressed, the emu is amazing. Glory for the devs! EDIT: Using GsDX9 (MSVC 15.00, SSE2) 0.11.0 graphics plug in Configuration: Resoultion: Windowed Renderer: Direct3D Shader: P2.0 Interlacing: Weave Bff Aspect Ratio: 4:3 D3D internal res: Native Enable NLOOP Hack for some reason, rest unchecked. Notes: Again, can't get past the same scene, though it always crashes as soon as it loads, unlike ZeroGS where at least you get to see the ghost. I'm leaving the current Status and Speed anyway. The graphics quality isn't quite as nice as ZeroGS (and runs a bit slower as well, I got 45-54 fps max, with an average of 25-40) but it looks good and the only effect that is missing is the blur/ectoplasmic-nonsense of the ghosts. You can see it in the 5 extra screens I attached, plus the moment where it crashed. Again, reading the game from the DVD. Last note: the FMVs all go at 6-9fps no matter the graphics plug in. CDVD (CDDA mod) 1.3.0 Interface: W2k/XP option set. BIOS: Europe V02.00 (14/06/2004) -------------- Using GsDX9 (MSVC 15.00, SSE2) 0.11.0 graphics plug in Configuration: Resolution: Windowed Renderer: Direct3D Shader: P2.0 Interlacing: Weave Bff Aspect Ratio: 4:3 D3D internal res: Native Enable NLOOP Hack, texture filtering. Notes: These screens don't really make justice as I don't recall the game being so full of scanlines/stripes or so blurred. Now, the experience is similar with both graphics plugins. Gsdx9 has an advantage in terms of fps (goes a bit faster, by 4-5 fps) but it suffers from some weird issues with the controller (???), which aren't present while running the game with ZeroGS (extremely weird, I don't know what could be causing this). Could be my analogue-less El Cheapo joystick. Other than that the game is absolutely playable. I reached the fifth stage but had to quit before suffering a mental attack due to the infinite amount of purple blobs you have to dodge. The fps go from fullspeed to 30-45 at most, which is great considering my comp specs. It can go as low as 20 but never below that, and that usually happens towards the first boss or when BIG (and I mean it) explosions fill the screen. First five screens are from ZeroGS, the last two are from Gsdx9. Again, they look horrible but in-game it looks fine. Last edited by AlphaProspector; December 4th, 2007 at 21:13.. |
