It won't. Modern graphics cards are designed for 32 Bit colors (as is the PS2) and are not faster when switching to 16 Bit.

So which of the many options in ZeroGS 0.97.0 does the same thing now? Or do I still have to do the 256 color "trick"?

None, at least I couldn't get any of the options when testing them out 1 by 1 to get RE4 running as fast 256 colors does.

ok 256colors Related to alpha blending and others things really increase fps speed in 2.0.9.4 So it seems, well done, this tips will be put sure in next version pcsx2? the Frequency of monitor screen those not getts more fps?¿in nulldc dreamcast with refreshclock Supposedly works at 85mhz, and with resolutions changer 2.0, Placing the driver and all of resolutions changer in video card drivers folder, Placing resolution 320x240 supposedly works, in pcsx2.0.9.4 works too???

Didn't work. I suppose it only gives 2-3fps, but never knew it will raise that much for ya.

How many times do I have to say, it doesn't help for everyone and this depends on your CPU and graphics card. The faster CPU and the slower graphics card you have the bigger speedboost you will see. Also some games are more graphics card demanding than others and this tweak only helps when graphics card is the limiting factor. If your CPU is weak but graphics card is strong then you won't see even 0% speedboost since your CPU is always limiting you then. If you don't get any speedboost with this tweak, means your CPU is the limiting factor.

Second time you do this, warning for you.Keep asking questions like this in irrelevant threads and you will be banned eventually.
Read the FAQ and realize you need a powerful PC to get good frames. Also you will NOT get support for SVN builds here

all what you need for Speed boost - run Pcsx2 exe with 256 colors checked

The trick only worked in ZeroGS, when GSDX was pretty much dead and no one thought we were going to see any updates, GSDX has now taken over and runs faster / better then ZeroGS.

Also it only helped if you were being bottlenecked by your GPU as it took some of the strain off your GPU. Meaning if you have a decent GPU, it did close to nothing.

All you guys using the emulator for RE4 - why not just get the PC version? It looks and runs much better.
