no need to open and modify your PS2, you just need swapmagic 3.6 and up, here a small guide how it works: Is there a way to dump a bios without modding a ps2(whatever that means) i can describe it noob-friendlier if you want.

I tried doing it, for a better dump of my ps2`s bios, but I`ve forgotten which reset button combo you need to do, inorder to get cdr`s to work with my ps2so couldn`t get it to work. I had a piece of paper tapped to my ps2 with the button combos last time round (ie hold down reset for 5 seconds etc etc). I`ve since lost that piece of paper, so all I get is the ROD (redscreen of death), telling me to put in a ps2 compatible cd/dvd. Grrr. Ah well I`ll stick with the files I got from last time I did it. They work perfectly fine anyways.

Thx for this tutorial! I used it and this one : http://ashholt.googlepages.com/ps2softmod (for running elf file without a modchip, using ARMax). The Dump-Bios CD I burned couldn't run, so I found that it is possible to run dump-bios directly from the USB flashdrive. It is lot more easier, and it saves one CD... |

I dumped my bios finally today with bios dumper 2.0 in the utilities page, and I got these files: SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[3B74F171].nvm SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[2929D411].diff SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[AD38BE4D].MEC SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[AD38BE4D].NVM SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[AD38BE4D].rom0 SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[B8CD1071].rom1 SCPH-39001_USA_Con_0160_20020207_v7_[D8DFCBD3].inf I thought it was supposed to output as a .p2b file.. Anywho, when I start up pcsx2, in that dialog box that's always in the background, I get "ROM1 not found" "ROM2 not found" "erom not found". Is that normal? I thought ROM0 file was supposed to be ROM1, and ROM1 would be ROM2.

If you had memor32, you can put boot in C/programme/memor32/ps2saves/BOOT. the dumping bios mass.elf or so put into an other folder and load it to memor32. Now use Dev1 mode. Now you must load dumping bios mass.elf from mec0/the folder you have put it/dumping bios mass.elf. |

I did this on my usa ntsc ps2, and in the pcsx2 emulator it says my bios is japanese. WTF?? Just to make sure that it was saying my bios is japanese i took every file out of the bios folder, pcsx2 said there was no bios in the bios folder. I dumped the bios again, and put all the files that were just dumped in to the bios folder, again pcsx2 said it was a japanese bios! also the name of the bios file is SCPH-77001_BIOS_VX_USA_220.BIN when I run the bios in pcsx2, o is enter and x is back just like a japanese ps2, but on my ps2 x is enter and o is back, so where the **** did it get this bios from? i bought my ps2 from walmart in tampa florida |

You're not being clear about your specs. Which C2D is it? If its an E4300, then the answer is, only when overclocked. If its an E8600, then definitely yes. As for the gfx card, if its a measly 7200GS, then no. If its a 7950GTX, then yes.
