Ah man.
Don't work for me.
I use the HDloader PS2 exploit, which allows me to browse my Memcard etc, and Elf's without a mod.

Tried putting it on the Memcard, and tried swapping the PS1 trigger disk with the burned disk, and still dosen't work.

Goes screwey when I load it from the memcard, and dosen't get rocognized on the disk (Even though I can access it)

Edit: Basically, I did what the dude above me did.

ps, i've tried DVD-R's, I don't think they work, but i just wana check w/ you.

**edit**
Okay i found a DVD-R, and burned it, i have a flash drive, its just The ps2 is giving me the whole, Only use PS2 Formatted Disks.

Question should i unzip the contents of the Iso?

would it be ok to dump my brothers bios for my own use?

and may I make a thread on dumping the bios for people who couldn't get the cd to boot?
or submit the guide to be merged to this sticky to help others? (i have a file to upload too that will make things easier)

when using the swapmagic 3.6 to boot the disc i burned i got a "not a valid ps2 disc" error
and i tried many burns, unzipping iso files, differrent media etc and none worked. but i found a way

I used swapmagic to load the boot elf from usb and that allowed me to get the dumpbios from the cd (dumpbios.elf doesn't work from usb but only through the boot utility)

there's a special way of making .elf files to boot on swapmagic

I should note that i have a lot of bios files, all from own my ps2s
I have 2 european ones, a slimline ps2 one
and 2 ntsc bios files .I bought the ps2s as it is illegal to mod chip here and i hadn't discovered swapmagic then
and there is slight differences in game, like my european brick ps2 bios has less stutters in games
(i know this shouldn't be true, but it's what i've experienced)

Is that legal? For example if you have your own PS2 but you decide to get a BIOS from say your friend, who has the exact same version of PS2 as you do?

It is only legal if you own the ps2.

Of course if you live with your brother that's not an issue. But your friend is another matter...

Do I need to have a modchip installed in order to do this? If so, how much do they cost and where can I get one, or am I supposed to do it myself? If I am supposed to do it myself, can someone give me a link to a tutorial?

A modded PS2 is a Ps2 with a small chip welded to the motherboard (I think) and allows you to play with DVD/CD RW and non-orginal games
