Core i5 is clock to clock faster than Phenom II, I don't really know how much sse4 help but every little thing count. ![]() My graphic cards is bottlenecking, I think anything higher than 8800GT is enough for pcsx2 (which is common nowadays). Square games generally runs great on pcsx2 based on various report from users here, I haven't personally tested any with my procie though as it is new and i've beaten them on ps2. ![]() You don't have to worry about overclocking with core i5, it has turbo which automatically OC one core based on your usage, no user interaction required and it's pretty safe. |

You don't have to do anything for turbo, you don't even need to know it exist. :/ You're talking about dragon quest 8 right? it's a rare gpu dependant pcsx2 games, my 3850 256MB can't handle it unless i'm using native resolution. |

So this is your GPU if you could increase the resolution? Otherwise it runs at 60 FPS constant? OK ^ ^ So the 965 is a good choice to run games Square, DBZ BT3 on PCSX2? When the i5 I would like to know how much it has advanced turbo boost two hearts ^ ^ '(they told me ... 3.2 GHZ) Would you videos?. |

Turbo works by shutting off inactive cores and allowing the remaining active cores to make use of the unused TDP, thus allowing those inactive cores to attain higher then normal clocks.

You use frame dropping (frame skip)? Because between the i5 and 965, if the performances are those that I wait, I take the 965 (cost of platform and base + GHz 32 nm AMD). Last edited by LLC; 4 Weeks Ago at 21:48.. |

I said that in both cases I ALWAYS stay at 60 fps without going even during particularly heavy scenes (FFXII, map nabreus was overloaded, or KH2 1000 Heartless ...) without FPS DROP 50-45 even 55 ... In 1650 * 1050 or at least 1050 * 1080 ^ ^ '. if you have screens, videos, has offered me ... Last edited by LLC; 4 Weeks Ago at 23:01.. |

Finally, I have time before ordering the whole, while I advise you (as a priority for emulation / PC games) Wait for the i5 650-660-670? or take an i5 750? I saw that even if it is a dual core, the 650 has 4 virtual cores ... and hyperthreading ... but 2 times less cache! But it probably does not much comfort in multitasking? PCSX2 is he going to take advantage of quad core? |
