Emulator runs at 10-20 fps gameplay, 60 fps fmv's?
Hi, I'm new and not very knowledgeable about emulators. I spent most of the day working on getting pcsx2 to work on my computer and now that I have I'm trying to run FFX on it. The problem I'm running into is that it runs at 10-20 fps. Gruelingly slow. This is the system information I got in Accessories --> system tools --> system info (I am not very knowledgeable about computers, though thanks to the past 6 hours of figuring out pcsx2 and using google, I've learned a bit. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks guys!)OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name OFFICE System Manufacturer HP-Pavilion System Model FJ463AA-ABA a6528p System Type X86-based PC Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz, 2200 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5.25, 6/16/2008 SMBIOS Version 2.5 Windows Directory C:\Windows System Directory C:\Windows\system32 Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1 Locale United States Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.0.6001.18000" Time Zone Pacific Daylight Time Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 3.00 GB Total Physical Memory 2.99 GB Available Physical Memory 1.62 GB Total Virtual Memory 6.19 GB Available Virtual Memory 4.23 GB Page File Space 3.28 GB Page File C:\pagefile.sys |

Its missing the gpu info, but I guess its an onboard gpu. Otherwise you'd get faster speed. Look for something like "Intel media accelerator". If you find that, thats your issue. Try setting GSdx to native resolution. "Config > Graphics > D3D internal res > tick the native checkbox". |

With speed hacks (which don't seem to be too breaking in that game), the CPU is good to go for that game. The RAM is fine (anything 1GB and over is enough). I'm also betting it's an Intel IGP that that system has that's slowing you down.
