Post SSE3 and SSSE3

SSE3 is NOT SSSE3, and vice versa. If your CPU supports SSE3 and crashes, make sure you are not using the SSSE3 version of gsdx.

I believe Gabest was asked about this along time ago, and he mentioned that SSE3 doesn't have any useful instructions for GSdx.
so that's why there's no SSE3 build.

I also want to add that only Intel CPU's support SSSE3, and SSE4.

so anyone with an AMD cpu, should stick to GSdx SSE2 for now.

Not much, the SSSE3 instructions are used on very rare cases in not many games, also as far as I know the SSE4 plugin is only useful if you run it on software mode, so really you are not missing much :P

Not rly, SSSE3 and 4 only give about 2-4 fps more, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Edit : Shadow beat me to it.

Am I the only one who gets a decrease with ssse3, I was checking WWE vs RAW 2009 and I got better performance for about 3-4 fps with SSE3 over SSSE3.

As you can see in post #5 and #6, difference should be minor, but don't we need every bit in emulation ?

Im not sure if mine supports ssse3 instructions or not, but it works just fine with ssse3. And really, I can't see much difference from sse2 to ssse3.

BTW, my cpu is E4600 from intel.

You can check that with CPU-Z program. PCSX2 doesn't show if your CPU supports SSS3 or not (console window).

P.S. Though that program makes PC PROBE 2 go crazy and turns on all alarms. Don't know what happens if you have a different program for checking temperatures, voltages etc.

All Core 2s support SSSE3. Only Penryn+ Core 2s support SSE4.
