I could use hardware aa, but there has to be a line to draw. You can smooth it so many times, but then takes a nice chunk of fps (well for me at least)

I just stumbled upon this and would like to point something out. These 2 compatibility fixes do different things.

Vanguard AA is different because its a post processing fix for Multisampling. While the Stalker fix is actually a forced method of supersampling. So there are definate performance implifications on which you choose.

Thanks a lot for putting up clues! I was wondering why the heck forcing AF on the Nvidia control panel didn't work. Using DX9 with matching resolution now allows AF in all its glory. Shimmering begone!

... or at least reduced. Crap, that also means the games that benefited from DX10 are in a give-and-take situation now. Speed or less annoying shimmer... hmm....

Ok so this helpful thread got the game working for me (SMT: Nocturne), only problem is no resolution will give me anything but a black screen except 1680 x 1050. ALL other resolutions just give a black screen, but sound is fine and the game is running. Any idea why?
