the patch for Silent Hill is quite complex. Which region is your game for?

Hi refraction, thanks for replying!

It's Europe.

According to the pinned tutorial this is what I did.... no luck though.

Code:
gametitle=SILENT HILL ORIGINS
comment=Skips Video (sceMpegIsEnd)
//Skip Videos
patch=0,EE,002f9948,word,24020001

Yeah when he said it's complex it means it does not follow the scempegisend pattern,so you'll need someone with advanced knowledge to do it

Yeap. Obviously it is complex.
I posted the code just as additional info.

Since i'm not in japan i got the US version, if that patch could be provided it will certainly be appreciated, see how the game goes in pscx2 .

Code:
gametitle=Silent Hill Origins (U)
comment=by Refraction
//keep thread alive (sleepthread syscall)
patch=0,EE,00321244,word,00000000
patch=0,EE,002e9190,word,00000000
//experimental movie skip :P
//patch=0,EE,001b02c4,word,00000000
there you go, have fun, be warned tho, the movie skip causes sound to dissapear as well

The Preist: your version is US not Europe, its the same CRC as the US one.

A huge THANKS Refraction!!!!!!!!
I'll be back with some feedback in a few moments.

EDIT--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was able to move a few steps forward by using the code but... ....
The game will either crash or stop after a console warning "bad start code 1b3, will manually skip stream".

Then you need to uncomment the video skip patch (the // infront of the last line) It will cause problems on the first level with sound, but should be ok apart from that

Tyvm for the patch refraction, will try it later when i can .

Tried it, it gets to the ratio select screen now, but it hangs upon button press, even with movie skip part enabled.

Joo Speak Teh Trooth!

'I get bad start code 1b3, will manuall skip stream" as typed, as the audience warning video tries to end, with or without skip patch. It's weird it kinda enters a loop trying to get to the next part.

Yeap... same here... The "//" thing doesn't work either....
I had some time to play around with the code and I noticed that the last line doesn't really makes any difference. The video will either get in a loop or cause a crash with or without the last line...

Spike delete the "//" infront of the last 2 lines.
I had the same problem. It works.
It's a bit "slow" though.
