Help running Xenogears

I've been having trouble getting Xenogears to run on PCSX...I've successfully managed to get other games (Ie; FF tacatics or FF9) to run flawlessly, yet Xenogears is another story...I've ran it under various conditions, and it either A.)is very slow and laggy B.) looks like **** or C.) randomly closes...This is the only PSX emu I've gotten it to even SLIGHTLY work on, and I'm pissed off that it wont (My television's CRT is shot, and I don't watch enough TV to find it worthwhile to replace it).
In addition, I'd like to take advantage of the computers ability to utilize graphics cards and processing power. I've a fast (2.2 GHZ CPU w///GeForce 4 ti 4800 video card) and have no problem running games with high sys requirements (ie; GTA:vice city for PC). therefore, I don't know why xenogears is performing so badly-the graphics aren't superb, and the effects aren't dazzling (but it's the most BADASS game ever) but I'd like to get it to run with some degree of stability.

If you've had success running this game with this or ANY other PSX emulator, let me know your cfg settings and such...It'll be much appreciated.

I have an AMD XP1800+ with 512MB RAM and a GeForce Ti4200, and I was having the same sort of problems. I managed to get it running much better once I'd disabled VSync on my GeForce card and installed the latest Detonator drivers. I'm using ePSXe by the way. There's other stuff you can tweak in nview to give better performance like enabling Use Block Transfer or trading in picture quality for performance.

Also, try setting Framebuffer Textures to 3 and Framebuffer Access to 4 as this gave me better performance than 2,3 or 0,4 as suggested by LK.

I went from having major slowdowns in the movie scenes to running at nearly 60fps just by doing this stuff. Oh yeah, there's a GeForce FAQ page that gives the best BIOS settings for optimal GeForce performance - I'll post the link if I can remember it....
