PCSX and GDB ... debuging with PCSX?

Well I've been eyeing the source code (compiled it got it working not a problem) and I've two things I've been wanting too do with it. 1 add GNU debug support (lots of reasons for this namely if you want to test a new plugin for the PSX it's a pain from my experience to see what's going on inside the PSX a debugger interface would make this.. a lot easier).

The other was a memory card plugin interface (this again seems a bit weird but it's not) so that one can have proper emulation of the age old (drum roll) Pocket Station.

The later isn't too hard, anyone familiar with integrating GDB into an emulator? Anyone have a CLUE? I have one but it would be nice if someone could give me some tips on places in PCSX to look at for this.

Ciao
