Chrono Cross issues

Hey, I'm relatively new to emulation for psx, but I am doing alright. My one problem is that with epsxe, I cannot access the status screen in chrono cross without having it freeze up. With no real means of fixing it, I switched to PCSX and the game runs fine with only one exception: Upon entering the screen in which you name serge, none of the characters show I've attached a screenshot:

Have you try using Pete's OpenGL2 graphic plugin?

I suggest that you return to ePSXe (1.5.2 version) and enable odd/even bit hack (make sure that you enable special game fixes too) in video plugin config.

Huh ? But I remember finished it either by Epsxe or PSXeven.(because the first time I finished using an emulator was the time I addicted to VGS)

it works ok on epsxe but the game freezes upon trying to access the status screen from the menu. I've tried literally every sound, cdr, and video plug-in and still no fix to that one glitch. (I've also tried both enabling and disabling the special game fixes).

on epsxe 1.5.2, like shendo said earlier, you need to have the odd/even bit hack fix enabled because it fixes (or is supposed to fix) a freezing issue with that game. while i dont recommend this because it is still unstable, in 1.6.0 you can try using the -noauto command line switch and see how it reacts. if neither work for you then you are going to need to post your system specs and how you are playing the game (disc or image) because otherwise im flying blind here trying to help you.

Tried the -noauto command...didn't work. Tried 1.5.2 ......SUCCESS! Thanks peeps.
