Mac PCSX doesn`t work "black screen of death"

I have an Intel Mac with Tiger 10.4.10. Downloaded PCSX build 1.6, put the correct BIOS into folder, slided Tekken 3 into my CD, after clicking File->Run CD I receive just black screen with white letters in the upper-left "*FL< FS +DI GF". After few minutes PCSX hangs up and exits. The different thing is that sometimes it doesn`t even show this black screen but instead displays error "Could not load Cdrom".

I would be very grateful for any help

How many BIOS files do you have in the BIOS folder? PCSX can't have more than one otherwise it crashes.

As stated above, how many BIOS files are in the folder and have you checked to make sure BIOS emulation isn't turned on?

In my experience using the Mac version, it does. It causes the emulator to not work and even crash.

Click "PCSX" in the menu bar, then "Preferences" and on the first tab there should be something on emulating the BIOS. Turn that off.

your bios dumps are faulty in that instance.

Looks like I have to apologise because now PCSX seems just fine to having multiple files in the BIOS folder and they're all the same dumps as before.

Perhaps there was a bug in whatever framework it uses to load the correct BIOS. I know it never used to work on any of my Macs (Tiger and Leopard) and now it does.

Quite likely a required runtime was not correctly installed preventing the folder from being parsed properly for file names. might have even been a unicode issue.
