PS 2.0 didn't help much with Project64, but I can confirm that ePSXe will work at full speed for D3D.

And here was just a quick memory usage test:

Seems like 1GB of RAM was enough for what I do daily. 630MHz processor wasn't, though...

*coughs* Time to bid for that only 753 processor on eBay... it's calling for me...

What puts me off is that the Pentium-M ULV chip is so scarce... that not even my Chinese partner has them, and they called 10 other places to hunt down the chip for me, too. Wow...

Oh... the usual. Parasite Eve II, Chrono Cross, Gran Turismo 2, Final Fantasy VII, and... I stopped after that. Maybe I'll test Dino Crisis 2 and Final Fantasy IX next.

Amazingly enough, Emulated VRAM coupled with Full Software Drawing (FVP) still gave me full speed even at stock clocks.

But Visualboy Advance won't cooperate so nicely. 900MHz or bust... seriously.
Maybe I do need that Pentium-M.

I think this thing is crazy enough by itself. Being able to run Project64 at full speed for some games is quite a feat... if I have to say so myself.

Now if the thing can run Disgaea 2 (through PCSX2) on the go, I'm willing to pay like another $600 for the update. But maybe... that's reaching too far. lol

Oh... really? Hmm... maybe it's time to open the Eee, get some phase-change cooler, and get to work...

One note to the faint of heart: the GPU can still be overclocked. lol

But then again, I love the machine too much to do something like that, though I know it is possible. Heck, if I mod the case a bit, or put the Eee in a 12.1" case, you can bet that I'll use a 12-cell battery pack and some ample cooling supplies for a 6-hour+ laptop.

And my Eee got from 630 to 900.

The new CPU might just be able to go from 840 to 1200.

Edit: Holy... I can't find a dead laptop with that one processor anywhere. The OEM parts are no longer in the channel... and the old parts are nowhere to be found! Golly...

Edit again: Messed with some stuffs to get maximum battery life today. (should last anywhere between 3h to 4h now) but I was also able to make Super Mario 64 go full speed (no slow down!) at 70MHz! Stock speed!

More on this later... maybe the BIOS did something to the IGP.

The EEE PC is so cool, I might buy one together with my new PC.

Really nice. I heard you can also run the ePSXe or PCSX(not 2!) at fullspeed, so basically you have your own portable multi-console thingy.

Well I am fairly sure the weak thing in my parent's PC is an Intel GMA945....that thing is plain awfull...however RAP's chip is pretty good considering.
