I decided to mess around with the HDR and SSAO a bit... and wowza, it came out nicer than I thought.
Not overtly blooming or insanely dark. The four screenshots attached demonstrate that.1st shot: adjusting just the HDRLevel and SSAO_Darkening values give houses some glowing edges to me... yikes! Seriously fugly to me... although surrounding areas (vegetation) look nice. 2nd shot: this is MORE serious than the glowing walls. I can excuse the glowing walls... but... what the heck is that thing surrounding my arms and gun? It feels like some kind of cheap plastic... Guess this is why Crysis looks all washed out by default.3rd shot: adjusting something else fixed the glowing edge AND somewhat soften the bloom and glow, giving the game a more subtle look. 4th shot: alright! No more artifacts! In fact, it makes the wall look brighter as well... for some reason. For more shots outdoors, download a zip file here. I don't have a dedicated host... so I can't upload them. I like this better than the "Ultra High" setting tweaks around the internet... due to the fact that this provides almost the same effects without a major drop in performance... and without killing the quality of other areas (indoor areas) or blooming too much. It goes around 15 to 30fps on the rig in my signature. After the 1.1 patch, the FPS count has gone up to 17 to 33fps, making this even more playable than before... and with this kind of IQ, I can't complain. ![]() Edit: Oh yeah, all settings on High, by the way.

It's a rather normal resolution actually. It's the default for 19" Widescreen monitors. Why anyone would like such a screen is beyond me though, 900 pixels isn't that much for a vertical resolution, and 1440 isn't enough to have two pages next to each other. Then again, this comes from a 24" user

Some guy is making texture mods for crysis as many of the texures are ~xbox360 quality.
Hopefully he fixes the most important textures. The leaves.
