Edit: Oh, with ut2k4 you may have not played it three times, but you are on your second right now.

and at least UT2K4 added something besides a ****ty graphics improvement & Bottle physics. But let's leave that to be argued in mIRC (as usual)

Hey, calm down a bit... I have to agree with N1ghtw0lf here. His points is making a lot of sense. Like when UT2004 came out. It has nearly no graphical difference, but they added a lot of different play modes and many new maps. They even added more weapons and more characters. Why make a new game to update so little?

It's exactly what they did with CS: Condition Zero. Nothing new but (ever so slightly) updated graphics. It's what they do best. The FPS games are hot, and they're taking advantage of it. Simple as that.
![]() Ummm... doesn't anyone find it *slightly* odd that there are no actual screenshots in this "screenshot" thread. Other than a couple links? Surely someone here actually plays the game and has taken a few screenshots? I'm not touching the game, but still, heh heh. ![]() - Modem

Hmm... sounds like CS:S really doesn't have anything new except graphic and physics?
. Sorry N1ghtw0lf (couldn't find anything on CS:S )By the way, I kept thinking there are new weapons in CS:CZ because of the description on the official website It's misleading...

Oh boy. N1ghtw0lf if you did play the game looks like you only played it to bash it!
I just found out ATI Bundle is now giving acess to CS:Source Beta so i gave it a try. I have to say i was SICK AND TIRED of 1.6. But still i wanted to see the Source engine in action. Well... i'm hooked again! Bottle physics do nothing? Well again ur only trying to bash... Seeing stuff fly and break like bottles and cans by lost bullets while ur trying to take cover is quite a great experience, brings more realism to the game, the grenades when explode if those objects that fly around hit you they'll do damage for you. Dust is NOT the same crap, reflections in the ground are simply amazing, the textures are simply amazing and the new objects around give you more cover and a more tactical game. The game play is NOT the same, i love the way how grenade works now (like a real grenade), weapons aim and recoil has changed for almost all of them. I have to say that after all those comments CS Source i thought it really was crap. But guess what ITS NOT. They did a pretty damn good job and its gonna get most ppl hooked to it like CS did. And N1ghtw0lf why would they completly change the gameplay if its already good for more then half of the online gaming comunity? Btw i read everything on steam and couldnt find out if im allowed to post screenshots or not. Do u guys know if i can? P.S. - Modem1, thats gotta be the greatest avatar i've ever seen ^^

You are allowed to post shots, I had asked when I still had it installed. You are not however allowed to post the shots to a news site or write a full blown review. (Wierd..)
My main reason for not liking the Source. Is it feels more cosmetic. I also just feel stale after almost 3 years of CS. While people have commented about UT2k4 in comparison. The reason why I have kept buying it and it's small graphical upgrades is. The large amount of numerous game modes available. I am also a fan and large player in the Red Orchestra Mod. So, Yes I do not deny my thoughts are biased. I'll probably give it another try once it's done. I'd just like a little more modes than the usual Deathmath and let's get the hostages. The one mode I always loved the was the VIP mode, which most CS players dispise. *shrug* |

I'm not saying they should drastically change the gameplay mechanics, just add something to keep people interested. Planet the Bomb, Rescue the Hostage, Plant the Bomb, Rescue the Hostages...Not only does it get monotonous, but 3/4 of the time people don't even go for the objectives, they jsut go til everyone on one side is dead. I am an FPS wh0re but i cannot bring myself to enjoy any version of coutner-strike for more than the first week i play it. And yes, there's an online a large online community that plays your game, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give them more to look forward to, if not, it's a great reason to add new content not only to keep the people who are already playing, but get new people to start playing your game as well. I don't play to bash, i play to play, which is hard to do when CS is the largest ******* magnet on the planet. And if they don't add anything that appeals to me, why shouldn't i bash it, it may be a solid multiplayer game, but they haven't adding anything to spark my interest since 1.3. Bottle and Tire physics do make it more realistic, but they don't really add any appeal to the game play when i'm more than likely (enless i'm a stupid moron) paying attention to the enemy rather than half a bottle laying on the ground. |
