Far Cry Screenshots.

I know I said I'd wait till Smartshader 3.0 is out. But what the hell.

All shots were taken @ 1024x768 @ 4x AA/16x AF In Quality Mode.

I was running the r300 path with full 128 Bit (FP32 ) precision. (Though it doesnt run any faster with the Nv3x path, it seems this card was designed to run shader 2.0 as fast as it does shader 1.0. All settings are up to max.

Anywho, I know I said I wouldnt take these. But I wanted to show Demigod this game. And the rest of ya can geta treat, I average anywhere from 30 to 80 FPS in this game. Average seems to be about 45 With everything at high. Its a beast, I remember tryen to run this game in Nv3x mode on my FX 5900 doing about 10-30 FPS with 4x/8x AF, Huge improvement. But this game is still very demanding.

Sorry about compression. Cant do .png here unfortunately

Wow this game is just insane on killing performance. There are some scenes that drop into the low 20's for me! I cant believe people said this game ran "great" For them on r300s and NV35s with 4x/8x AF @ 1024x768. I cant believe that.

At some point it reaches 23 FPS, Which is bordering unplayable. Though I remember my FX 5900 hitting 11 FPS...

982 SHOTS WITH A ROCKET LAUNCHER....guessing your usin cheats ...ive beaten the game twice and never have i had more than 5 rockets

i played through it once with my Ti4200 and it normally stayed around the 20's in fps on medium, now i have a radeon 9800 and it hovers around 40 majority of the time on very high...rarely drops down to the 20 enless in thick jungles...dunno why your having such a problem...but then again i dont use AA...

I am using 4xAA/16x Quality AF. Thats a factor, W/o AA/AF get like 35% more on my average frame rates. It's in the jungles where I have the biggest problem. I usually get about 35% higher frame rates with AA/AF disabled.

I mean btw doesnt the whole "GOD Mode" kinda give away the whole cheat thing.

It was for me.. I barely got to Fort then couldn't go any further. Had to use cheats. Also, for taking good shots it's kinda necessary to use cheats.

i beat it 2 times on normal, excellent game, the plot blew but it was just fun to play...the second time was just to see how well it ran on my 9800 and ended up playing the whole thing again

Nice shots. I love this game so much. The best way to play is on my 52" LCD. This game supports Widescreen natively which is nice and even without FSAA it still looks like I have about 4XFSAA on my tv. That means full speed baby!

No diss to you Chris or your card, but the IQ isn't overly impressive on that card and Far Cry.. I can get it looking that good (minus FSAA/AF), while running at a good stable 36-40FPS constantly. Did the SM3 make it look any better to you?

there is no way in high heaven you could get your pc to run Far Cry maxed out at those settings...i can barely do it and my pc is 3 steps above yours...and not many (especially those with cards below 5950's and 9800's and 3Ghz cpu's) can run it "stable"...my fps fluctuates from 60 down to 18...i just think your boasting about something that isn't there...go into a thick jungle or the river level and show me some benchmarks and i still rpobably wouldn't believe ya...

and the 6800 owns yur ti4600

(my CPU is up to 2.1Ghz, my ram is at 333mhz, and my video card is slightly OC'ed just so you know)

Ah **** I knew I would get that response.. I NEVER said my Ti4200 owned a 6800, I'm saying the IMAGE QUALITY isn't as good as everyone suggested it is on it.. although the speed is good..

I don't run all maxed out, I run at everything medium except for textures, water, shadows and lighting which are on high @ 1024x768x32. And to tell you the truth it doesn't look a bit worse than in Chris's shots.. Don't believe 36-40? Hm. I'll prove it.. lemme get some shots, huh. I do realiz that in thick vegitation it slows down alot, but I was giving n average, usual framerate.
