Giants: Citizen Kabuto

I was digging thru a pile of stuff yesterday in my room and found my old copy of this fantastic game! Gave it a spin last night and the game still rocks. The landscape is just breathtaking, and the bumpmapping isn't too shabby either. Not too bad for a 3 year old game, eh?

First shot: KABUTO!!! Man, this guy is huge. I'd like to see him take on the Hulk.

Oh yeah: settings are maxed out, 800x600(14 inch monitor) and 4x FSAA.

Re: Giants: Citizen Kabuto

I LOVE Giants!! A shame that it didn't do so well....it's the same with System Shock 2 (for those who played it)...what an amazing game! Still is....

Yeah, this game was off the hook a couple years back. I remember trying it on a friend's comp before I got me Alienware. It was a P3 800MHz/256MB SDRAM/TNT2 Ultra rig and the frame rate barely climbs up to 60 in 800x600/32-bit/all settings maxed out. You really need a power system for this one. This game will humble your system; it's like playing a frickin' 3D benchmark app.

Oh yeah, did I say these shots were at 800x600? Heh, I meant 1024x768. Some quality loss, though. Had to lower JPEG compression quality so I can upload these shots.

BTW, I get about 110-125FPS, 1024x768/32-bit/all settings maxed out. Will be posting more shots when I have the time.

Eh, he simply doesn't suffer from "Stupid American" syndrome. That's prolly the way he bought the game, the way it was made. We americans got a patched version 'cause our little 15-year-olds can't handle seeing a rendered nipple.

Good thing we have freedom of expression here in the states. Don't want our kids tainted with images a blue, poorly shaped and rendered breast.
