I always pictured this sword having an internal light type look, here is a night shot of it. The halo around it is just for effect.

hehe, thx, and sure I'll make some into wallpaper.
Tell me what ones.
ATM I'm rendering nova's edge at superfine aa quality @ 1600 by 1200. That is usually the max for desktops so you can scale it down to whatever you want.

Just post what ones you want made into wallpaper, or any new things you want me to make and I'll see what i can do. Each one takes about 4-6 hours at 1600 by 1200 though so only one per night.

Acctually, only that Nova's edge pic will take a really long time.
It uses a lot of volumetrics like the halo, the spraying water, and the sword itself uses a lot of reflection mapping... The ball at the top of the handle is a glass like material so it does a reflection/refraction map of the volumetrics causing it to take a REALLY long time...
The othres should only take 2 hours at 1600 by 1200.

Anyone know of a good host that I can use for these wallpaper files. Preferably that allows the use of FTP transfers and does not require you to use their HTML creation methods.

If you want something that has a more simplistic look you can use one of these.
This one is ony a pure white background, so oyu can change the screen background to white and the icons will blend in nicely.

Not to be mean but i like the dark one better.
But try putting a cool flame background behind the white sword
Making it like a Holy sword or something and put a light down the sword
