Resident Evil 5

System used:
AMD Athlon64 X2 5200+ @ 3Ghz
2GB DDR2 667Mhz ram
GeForce 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 @ 680/1700/1900 GeForce 190.89 drivers
Windows XP SP3 (DirectX 9 mode)
Logitech RumblePad2 and KB+mouse

It doesn't officially support pads besides X360 pad so i used a Xbox360 pad emulator

High settings with 2X AA and CP AF

Seemless trasition from gamepad mode to kb+mouse mode

I like graphics, I like the details. Awesome.

Q: How's running on your system with these settings?

Mostly 50-60FPS (i locked it at 60FPS) but on more intensive scenes and some place with high geometry and details goes down to 40ish

Tearing was annoying but vsync can fix it, which introduces a problem, the slow loading problem DMC4 had (both used the MT Framework engine)

Yeah this game looked great on the 360, so the PC version should naturally have just as great or even better graphics and detail.

Is using a gamepad worth it? Would k & b be sufficient?

So they didn't fix the tearing after the demo? It was more annoying than the jaggies by far. I recall the game looking rather nice, a treat for the eye and something that should make me happy having purchased my GPU. How is the game otherwise? Any fun to play?

@Purkinje: Well im using a gamepad first like i said in my post, but recently i tried the kb+mouse combo and it seems better, with all the extra buttons and all (quick knife quick turn button numerical items etc)
Mouse can also be configured in two modes, first the standard 3rd person style and the other is the Nintendo Wii style aiming (cursor type).

@Cid Highwind: Well, i think it was pretty similar situation i got in DMC4 as well hehe, and i just noticed that im on 60Hz refresh, i set it to 75Hz and the tearing is gone (or at least reduced). As for the jaggies with or without AA it doesnt seem to be very noticeable imo, in fact 2 or 3 of my screenies is 4X AA and some are 2X AA, try to find em lolz.

AS for the gameplay, its okay so far just recently tried using the mouse + kb combo and im getting teh hang out of it.

I get about 100fps average on my 3d monitor. it looks gorgeous too. Im pretty sure im CPU-limited though, quadcores get a heck of a lot more fps than i would.

Didn't know this was out.

I love Capcom for bringing their games to PC.

@makotech222: Yes, afaik MT Framework Engine 2 can utilize up to 8 cores (was discussed by the devs way back in DMC4 development) And it does loves fast quadies. (changing from X2 4000+ to 5200 merited me around ~7-10FPS average performance increase)
@gamefreak94: Er, i upgraded a month ago so its not new anymore (but how did you know anyway?)
@SCHUMI_4EVER: Huh? first impression when i played didn't reminded me of FarCry 2 at all

Agreed, my non-wireless Rumblepad 2 also delivers faithfull service.
Perhaps it's about time Logitech and the others sue...although Logitech does have the Chillpad Extreme copy of the 360pad so they may not be as badly affected...and the 360 pad does have 2 or 3 extra buttons.

@Project Epsilon: This one
ToCA EDIT -> Download Manager -> Recent Projects -> XBOX360 Controller Emulator v3.0

At the default settings, it's for logitech rumblepad2 users, for other pads you may wanna edit the ini file for proper button layout.

@SCHUMI_4EVER: I believe the X360 pad only has one extra button versus the rumblepad2, thats the middle button. Also, the X360 pad has analog triggers so rumblepad2 users can't emulate that, its always digital input.

Short info. That is absolutly unnescesary. ALL Controllers are nativly supported (like in Devil May Cry IV) Just go in the Launcher then Config and navigate to the gamepad option and you can set your favorite. (In my case number 2)

Works just fine over here with my speedlink. The emulator isn't needed here.
