Been waiting on this one for a while. Glad to see Capcom took the time to port it right and take advantage of the configurability of the PC, rather than *****ing about it as a detriment to the development/porting process.

(EDIT: Sorry about the white bar at the bottom of all the pics, I used MSPaint and the field must have been set to 1600X1201 when I pasted in. Meh.)

This is the result of everything maxed, no AA, no Vsync, and 4X texture filtering + Ink shader

Decided to try it with Vsync, since the screen tearing was just awful

And then with AA 2x, since the jaggies were noticeable, but not really bad at all, IMHO

...and then turned the Vsync back off to see what difference it would make

Finally, for ****s and grins, decided to run it with all settings as low as possible:

After reading through this thread, I got to thinking about it and realized I havent updated my graphic drivers in a long time.

So, all settings to super low, with the latest nVidia driver set:

Aaaaand finally, all settings maxed except 2x AA and 4x texture filtering; Vsync ON and INK shaders:

Wow, the new drivers gave me an extra 30 fps on ultralow and an extra 10 on all maxed out settings. I can play now with 2x AA, vsync, and Ink shaders. Nice.

Can't wait until it hits shelves on July 7th. I wonder why the UK gets the early release this time around?

hi

after seeing all the high scores, i decided to get a nvidia gts 250.

the performance gain wasnt what i had expected. it was probably 30 percent faster than my hd4650 overall. oh well at least the drivers arent as bad as ati.

I just had to give this benchmark-thingie' a try as well.

SF_IV-01.jpg
-----------------------------
SF_IV-02.jpg

2048x1536, everything on max besides antialiasing, which doesn't make much difference here at this res anyways

(4X AA and 12X AF that is )

It is grand news that they will release SF-IV for PC.

Man, I really don't understand. Are all of you really planning on playing the game with vsync turned off? I found the screen tearing to be absolutely horrible, and totally distracting from the game and visuals. Far, far worse than the mild aliasing.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

VSync is supposed to be turned off during a gaming benchmark to allow the game to run beyond 60fps. Otherwise, a 9800GTX and a GTX285 (for instance) would both post scores locked at 60fps, giving the impression that the cards are running equally.

Yes of course, you are correct. If I had thought about it for more than 1/20th of a second I would have realized that what was posted here is not necessarily an indication of how the game was actually going to be played.

It was a dumb question, and I retract it. Or would if I could delete the post.

I do agree though that the game looks really bad without VSync. All of the high speed movements and animations induce a lot of screen tearing. This game simply should not be played without VSync enabled.

Here you go.

Everything is set to their minimal settings except the background graphics. The only options there are low and high. Low just gives you an "empty space" look similar to the empty training room in the matrix.

Place the file in \Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Capcom\STREETFIGHT ERIVBENCHMARK

If you can't find the AppData folder, then you need to enable "View Hidden and System Folders" in the folders options, available from the Control Panel.

Uh, folder location is for Vista/Windows 7. XP uses a similar user directory under "My Documents". *I think. It's been awhile since I've used XP.*

Or 75, or 85 or 120 fps aswell, depending on the hz of the monitor
But yeah. true

The benchmark failed for me every other time i ran it, because it defaulted to 1920x1080, at a hz-rate unsupported by my monitor.
If it happens again you could re-apply that config-file he gave you every time, or lock hz at 60 in dxdiag.

Maybe it requires SM 3.0? Then again, I assume an error would pop up if this were the case. :/

The only other thing I can think of is maybe you can try updating your graphics driver. Some people (both nVidia and ATI) had problems with instabilities and missing screens until they updated to the latest available WHQL or beta.

Did you try to lock the refresh-rate at 60hz?
Because for me atleast, the benchmark gives a black screen since it sets a too high refresh rate.

(Run: dxdiag
And then -> Video > More Options)

Runs well, but I did notice some slowdown during close-up moments. Loading stuff maybe, dunno. Result on running 1080p, hi-Q Shadows and stuff:
