Although the geforce 6600 is the minimum, i was running the game much more smoothly and faster, i mean a higher fps, than devil may cry 3 on pc. Also even with a geforce 6600 i was running it at medium to low settings quite well at a high resolution, i was running it in vista with 2.8ghz pentium d with 1 gig of ram. The only reason i can guess it ran so well compared to games like turok, which ran dog slow, is that it took advantage of the 256MB ram i got on the 6600.

Its also true for Lost Planet, as well as for the upcoming RE5

I don't have much time to play, but i will be getting the game soon!
So there's a chance PC users could also see a release for Resident Evil 5 shortly after it debuts on the 360/PS3?

If so that would be awesome. I plan on picking up DMC4 for PC next month since I don't have the money to buy it at the moment.

Does the full version run as well as the demo? The demo was quite playable on low on my PC so it would be nice if the full version ran as good to.

Since you discussed Final Fantasy here, what's the latest version of Final Fantasy for PC which doesn't require an subscription?

Good news is, the retail runs as good as the demo.

By the way, has anyone read 1Up review yet?

They gave it 58 due to the fact that the PC version does not provide anything extra from Ps3 and X360 version, despite its outstanding performance on mid-end PC and its excellent support for X360 Joypad (compared to Assassin's creed, this game is heaven in term of controller support).

If they judge the game as it is, I think it deserves much better score (>85, IMO).

Since this is a screenshot thread, here are some shots from the retail version. All shots taken @1360*768 Max setting.

Yeah i read it today. I thought it was the most retarded review i have ever read. The guy complained because it was the exact same game and because of...ahem... NO MOUSE SUPPORT!? WTF!?!?!?! WAS THIS GUY ON CRACK!?!? anyway. The game is very well optimized and have better graphics and a nice new mode with a lot of enemies on screen and he gives it a lower score than the console version. It just doesnt make any sense.

1up is bloody joke. Take a look at the review.

Reviews: Devil May Cry 4

A solid action game that fails to take advantage of the PC platform.

I can't figure Capcom out. The developer goes to the trouble of bringing one of its console hits to the PC, and then puts out a port that doesn't have anything new or interesting for PC gamers. Sure, it's Devil May Cry 4, and by golly, its enhanced high-res visuals sure look swell. But if you're going to port a game to the PC, you should take advantage of the most versatile platform out there. DMC4 fails to do so.

Granted, the game plays great. It's the same intense, stylish demon-killing we've come to expect from the series -- repetitiveness and all. The visuals sparkle, and even at the highest settings, my modest videocard had no problems handling the load -- no stuttering or jaggies. And the game didn't crash once during my playthrough. The boys at Capcom know how to make a good-looking, technically sound game -- but they have problems tailoring it to the PC.

The PC features include improved visuals and a new "Legendary" difficulty mode, which puts enough enemies onscreen to qualify as an entry in the Dynasty Warriors series. It's a helluva challenge (I'm not a seasoned DMC player, so I struggled to get through the first level on this mode), so I'd say it's a worthwhile addition for really hardcore action game fans. But its inclusion in the PC port really makes me question the wisdom of the developers. Hardcore DMC fans would appreciate this mode most...but aren't those folks playing DMC on a console? This would be a great treat as downloadable content for consoles, but it almost seems like wasted effort here.

Mouse support is another issue: According to our review of last year's Resident Evil 4 PC port, the game doesn't support a mouse -- and Capcom repeats this omission in DMC4. Your best bet is the Xbox 360 gamepad, and it works quite well, too. You can also use the keyboard -- movement uses the standard WASD keys, and combat keys are set to your right hand -- but I found this to be an inconvenient (and uncomfortable!) way to play the game. I would've appreciated even token mouse control instead of the flurry of keystrokes that accompany every round of combat.

DMC4 is technically solid, and those who enjoy action games (and don't mind repetitiveness -- you face some of the bosses three times!) should give it a whirl. But its lack of enticing PC features leaves me wondering if Capcom sees the PC as either a worthy platform or just a place for well-playing but otherwise ho-hum ports.

C+

I've never heard of a DMC4 release for PS2 nor PSP, he obviously was smoking crack that day, perhaps he has dyslexia and got the numbers ass backwards, perhaps it was supposed to be an 85 rather than a 58.

Currently my review of DMC4 for the PC would be about U for ungraded. The trial version runs flawlessly, however having just bought this game to find it crashes either entering ingame or on the benchmark, I'm horribly disappointed, to the point where I may just snap the disc and post it to them with a highly sarcastic letter.

I've even tried the full game with "IDENTICAL" settings (down to config.ini level) to the trial and had no luck getting it to run.
