Any Japanese out there?

Stupid question, I know

Well, the following thing happened: A small label from Berlin just produced an album to be released in Japan which features a few German bands singing their songs in Japanese.

And I just wondered:

Would you buy such an album?
Can one actually understand the stuff they sing?
How well does the following band perform?

The only people who I remember that could read japanese was Shiori and 501XX, but they are long gone now.

sorry, but my ears bled listening to that. It's just like having a Spanish-accent singer singing some American pop crap....it just never sounds good

Although I really don't reallty live in Japan. I have a lot of friends who live there and share their experiences.....

So if my memory is correct, there IS a market to these kind of music, although they're NOT mainstream. (And even more bizarre, Japanese music that is translated to English for release ONLY in Japan.) The mainstream are still still dependent on age group.

Their Japanese is understandable, although they tend to eat their words when they need to squeeze many phrases in one stanza.....

(Let's just say normal Japanese people will snicker a little when listening but fans will understand them......)

Anyway, the music ain't bad, it's almost like Rock/Ska. Except it's Japanese... I'd listen to it....

Hushy knows japanese, I know a little bit. Either way THERE is not a small market for it, a lot of swedish artist are much bigger in Japan than they are in Sweden.

I also know a few German bands that fit there.

Any metal band that makes music resembling the F-Zero X soundtrack in some way gets popular in Eastern Asia in no time.
