where are you downloading from? i assume it's microsoft downloading center

there are two types of installations. web installer means that you download a 300K installer and it downloads the necessary files at install. Redist(ributable) means that you download the whole installer (58 mb?) then install from your hard drive. usually you want the web installer, especially if you just want to update to latest revision (or something).

anything that doesn't say redist is web installer. apart from that, the only difference between the files is the date. the last version is of august 2007, so you should look for that.
