on a side note, internet2 just reached speeds of about 10gb per second. BluRay disc in 5 seconds! yay!

As long a my ping in online games is below 200ms, I'm satisfied. No way I'm going to dish out more money for a connection where I'll barely see any performance increase, connection wise. Plus, if it takes me 1day to download a 700 megabyte file...doesn't matter, I'm a patient guy

That's 1.25GB/sec if I'm not mistaking; you're gonna need some FAST hard drives to sustain that speed.

There's got to be some really bad side effects to that. Like cancer or something. I can't imagine all of those invisible high speed beams going through your body to be safe.

This Internet+200 channels+unlimited N. America+international phone calls discount cost me $100 per month (I call my relatives in France and those in Taiwan quite often XD)
My old calling plan (same phone plan as now actually lol but with no discount) was $69/mon, 50 channels TV was $8/month, 300mb/sec DSL was $17/mon; so, I guess this is worth it. I hope

The dailup I had back in Malaysia was far worse than 56K, sometimes it would cut off and never exceeded 36Kbps, you will appreciate broadband after years of getting your Internet trough a leaky straw.

It wasn't much better here either, with luck I could get 45Kbps, but I would be cut off a lot as well.

I wouldn't be able to do my thing now without having broadband.
