Of course. They even have strategies in order to get a profit ALWAYS:
Sell the monochromatic Gb when there were color games in the other side and some of those consoles even had tv, delay the launch of the N64 until it could be sold at a profit instead of at loss, launch a new console with outdated technology like the Wii (the wiimote doesn't count)... If it works for them then it's ok...for them. |

Of course they dominate handheld - they've never had a half-decent competitor until last year in the field. And you really think PS3, at that price, is gonna outsell Wii? Sony doesn't, I'm certain.
Not that sales matter ultimately, it's what you enjoy that matters. My PS3 owning friends love them to death, and I loved my PSP until it got stolen. It's not a competition, it's *****ing entertainment machines. (That said, the Gamecube sold really badly, worse than the PSP has so far and PSP is still very early in it's lifespan. That's no good!) On profit: Imagine how much the system is actually worth, if Sony is taking such a loss? I heard the loss per system was around $300 for the lower-end system. But buy a handful of games, a couple movies, some accessories, some downloads, and they start turning a profit. Microsoft, last I heard, had started turning a profit in the fall sometime because they'd produced enough units - cost does go down eventually on hardware after all, economy of scale. |

Its so funny that there is a ridicolous amount more hardware sold in japan than software. That just proves the crazy amount of pirating.

How can Gba kicks the ass of a competitor that doesn't exist in the first place?
Does it have anything to do with this smile? Does this smile: |
