The whole idea of that anime is to be mindless madness and I think the actual "story" was put there to just get somekind of ending to it, not as to actually make something out of it... Oh, and it happens to be one of my favourites!

Um, about the ghost hound, the electronic brain... ??? No idea what that means... It has a lot of psychology in it and neurological terms and theories and the electronic brain might be something to that, but nothing to fear... Its actually pretty good, no mechs I don't like them either, just watch few episodes and see if you like it... Well the main idea might be better to explain... (there aren't really spoilers there so read on...)

The plot is revolving around the protagonist who was kidnapped with his sister when they were little. In present he's forgotten all about the time of the kidnapping and before it and in addition is suffering from narcolepsia(dozing off suddenly no matter where he is) and during these "seizures" he has dreams of the time he was kidnapped, basicly he remembers something that happened during the kidnapping, or he gets a OBE(Out of Body Experience) later named as astral projection. There is also a psychiatrist who tries to help him with his trauma, and with him there comes a lot of neuro- and psychological terms and some ratianol explaining to the story. He also gets around two other guys who have had similar experiences and both also have emotianal trauma of something that happened in the past. These three then lear about this "hidden world" that they enter when they're in astral forms they then start to investigate the kidnapping and some rather strange things happening in the town.

My friend lent me Law of Ueki. I haven't started yet and I know nothing about this one. It's one of the anime that escaped me when I went on a MMORPG craze for a few years. I've read it's basic outline and it sounds promising. It has 2 seasons under its belt so I guess I'll be expecting a good watch

We just named our favourites on the previous page...or at least I did...it really depends on what you like though...

Anyways I finnished off Rozen Maiden Season1 finally. It was not too bad in the end...the last few eps were easier going. Gonna watch the 2nd Season aswell inbetween Mamotte Shugogetten now. It reminds of Chobits....although I think I preferred Chobits....I can't stand how the dolls won't act more reasonable...

I also finnished of both seasons of Maria-Sama ga Miteru. Whilst I don't think many guys like it....at least not overly sentimental ones like me, it's not bad and the characters really grew on me. It might just get a place in my favourites afterall (top 20 or 30 though, not top 10). I am glad I watched.

Started watching Mamotte Shugogetten. It's a barrel of laughs...cliched I suppose, but I am really enjoying watching it. It reminds me of like an all comdey version of Ah My Goddess. I need to be carefull though when I watch it XD cuz I sometimes burst out laughing whilst watching it so I need to make sure my dad is asleep or away. Definite entry into my Top20 sofar.

Higurashi No Naku Koroni, my top 1.
It also has a second season Higurashi No Naku Koroni Kai, while not as good as first it answers almost all the questions and it kind of finishes the story, I'm pretty sure you can find english subs for them... Heck, I actually found finnish subs for the first season!

And school rumble rocks too, as it was already mentioned by chankast

Higurashi no Naku koro ni is also one of my favorites, however I would put Kai as the better of the two because of the meaningful turn the fight of the main protagonists take.

Other than that, Simoun, Aria, Figure 17 and the third season of Crest of the Stars (Banner of the Stars) are up there in my Top 5.

That one is actually one of my Top favorites, once even my favorite, but others came after it. It must be like in 7th place right now I'd guess... and well, despite the series being initially written for women it does have a big men following

I liked how the first season kept the mystery feeling up all the way till the end and the brutality in the events that happened. For some reason I was kind of disappointed at the solution in the second season and I found "the last battle" to be sort of... Childish... Also I also felt it lost something when it turned from "separate" stories to an ongoing story line. Don't get me wrong, the second season isn't bad its still one of the best I've seen, I just liked the first season more

Well... I guess that is a matter of opinion so yours is as valid as mine. Personally what engaged me into Higurashi wasn't the brutality and the gore, but the mistery and the sense of desperation the series gave. As such I felt the second season was a masterful conclusion to all the questions the first season presented. IMHO the later arcs made all the previous tragedies all the more meaningful, and gave redemption and hope to all those that seeked it. Not to mention that making the 2 later arcs larger it allowed for more character development than in previous arcs. Specially the insight we got into Rika's POV.

Not to mention that it is still not over. Let the third season OVA come

I'll just list my favourites seeing I don't know what you like

Cardcaptor Sakura
Serial Experiments Lain
.hack//sign
Boogiepop Phantom
Haibane Renmei
Texhnolyze

Some of these are sort of hard to watch though (obviously not Cardcaptor Sakura), don't know if you're used to them.

Recomendable
-12 Kingdoms
-Dennou Coil
-Death Note (incredibly overrated, but everyone and their mom seems to love it so what the hell)
-Baccano
-Mononoke
-Paranoia Agent
