Higurashi no naku koro ni, finished! Looooooooveeeeed it!!! :wub

Definetly one of my favourites. I'm just wondering how are they gonna keep it interesting in -kai? Gonna start that soon!

Well, even if they are I liked them all, deus ex machina is pretty often used anyway, not only in anime either... Matrix, about all superheroes, etc. but the fact that the ending is a variation of DEM doesn't make it bad, they can still be made very well or -badly. But I still liked the endings in those that I mentioned in the earlier post but I've seen better too.

Ok, since Radix865 kicked us out from the other thread I'll continue my referencing here

Tsukihime is a game that falls under the "Visual Novel" genre, which is quite common in Japan but hasn't had much exposure in the west. You can see some information about it here. Basically, it is similar to a novel with images. Player interaction consists in selecting from a series of choices at crucial points that lets you explore the different plot branches the game presents. The Anime was based of Arcueid's Arc, but there is also a story centered on Ciel, Akiha, Kohaku and Hisui, and much more story elements that were not touched in the animated series. If you manage to get a hold of a Japanese copy of the game, mirrormoon has made an English patch for it so you can play it without problems.

Ahh I see.

I wish those games woud also come to the west...well maybe one day considering anime is getting ever larger exposure and becomeing more and more popular in the west.

(no clue why I did not read your entire post beforehand...it just happens sometimes that I get distracted midpost and forget that I did not finnish it yet I guess...thereby missing something important)

I agree with schumi that many of the japanese-exclusive games would have high demand in the west too(I'm not just talking about hentai games ) and I actually hope they'd port them here, all they'd really have to do is sub them as the original voices are better anyway(if there are voices...). Nintendo has taken few steps with the brain academy and the like but there are a lot of games that the west is ready to take on... Especially after watching higurashi I want to play the games!!!

What kind of anime is FLCL? I read the plot summary from ANN but it doesn't sound that strange to me...

It's just completely random and unrealistic...you have to watch it to understand how crazy it is.

Well let's not make presumptions. While I share your opinion of not liking it, many consider FLCL to be one of Gainax's finest works, so let's leave it up to the audience

0_0 my hatred of NGE killed the thread XD

Anyways I managed to get Hellsing. Soon I should be getting Negima and Solty Rei.

I may watch Hellsing as I am tiring of DB a bit seeing as I have watched all of GT and most of DB (about a quarter into the Piccolo Junior saga) pretty much without much of a break inbetween (I mean no other series or games)....and I can't play ProStreet to give me a break as my harddrive crashed...Hellsing looks interesting anyways, more interesting than DB currently is.
Well either Hellsing or Beast Wars Season 2 (I know it's not anime but bah...the original tranformers was anyways)...not quite descided yet.

Hmmm... personally I am a big fan of Negima... but the Anime adaptations are quite lacking. If you have the chance get the original manga.

... personally I was never a fan of Hellsing... read the manga up to the 3/4 point mark and my interested dropped

Hellsing or hellsing ultimate?

And about NGE I think its one of those anime that you either like or hate. The story in it is pretty heavy and hard to understand.

Okay, halfway through with higurashi no naku koro ni kai... I like how it finally gives answers. Damn, higurashi's are one of my favourite anime now... Any info on the live action movie, it should come out this year right?

Yeah I want to get the Manga for Negima eventually aswell. In fact this is partly why DB is currently so boring, I read the manga like a year ago and I have an insane memory for some stuff so I know almost exactly what happens next.

NGE's story is pure suicidal drivel with some christian themes and mechs thrown in....nothing hard about it.

I think it's regular Hellsing...it's only 13 eps.

Well NGE is about the apocalypse so the theme works, and if you've watched it longer you know they're not "really" mechs But I found it good, even though I'm not a mech fan...

Yup, the older hellsing... Hellsing ultimate has three hour long episodes each on their own DVD, the fourth should come next month. They do have their differences, I liked more the craphic style in the older but the ultimate has better story(it is more manga based). Plus the ultimate has couple of jokes that don't really fit into it, alucard is more hardcore in it tho(which is good a thing)

I know they are not mechs....but they pretty much are.

I have watched all of NGE with an open mind and only reached my conclusions on the series after I finnished it (and the movies) and had watched Blue Gender which is far superior to it.

I'm glad that you are liking Higurashi as well. In my lists it managed to get up up to my Top 5, so it is indeed one of the best series I've ever seen.

About Evangelion... I'm on the 'I like it camp', because of the miriads of new concepts it introduced (heck, it practically invented the tsundere and 'silent girl' stereotypes for all that matters ), however, the 'I don't like it' camp seems to be very vocal so I'll leave it at that.

Saw first episode of Shigofumi today. Finally a group decided to pick it up ^.^

The first episode had quite a surprising end. Can't say much about it without spoiling anything. But so far it looks good. Good animation. And i like the twist at the end. So good first episode overall.

Also sort of picked up Clannad again. I'm at episode 12. So far i find the Kotomi arc more interesting the the Fuuko arc. But some things feel overly cliché
Spoiler:
Tomaya knowing Kotomi when they were children. Feels very... VERY cliché. Though i'll see how the rest goes.

Up to date again with Shana and Gundam to. Arrival of Pheles made things interesting. But if it can save the show... is still questionable for me. But lets see how the next episode goes.

And Gundam. Well still the same as before. So still like it

Excuse me.... I have a question. Do You know something about Full Metal Panic? I mean, if there's going to be any continuation of this anime. I've read on this forum one post about it... but if you knew something new about it and write it here I'd be so glad.....
