I already have Ahh Megamisama. What i don't like about it is that it doesn't end. The manga is still being published very sporadically, read: when the autor feels like it.

Can somebody reccomend something along the lines of Love Hina? That's the kind of manga/anime i like to watch.
Well you might be interested in watching the next work from the same author: Mahou Sensei Negima. There are two mangas and two anime series about it. The first manga, the one the Loove Hina's author is responsible for, is nothing short of super-b. The author has matured his style a lot since Love Hina, so you can expect antics in a much better presented way (with added story and action! ). The first anime series is quite crappy, but its the closes you can get to the original author. The second manga and the second anime series are an alternate (yet similar) storyline based in the same universe... not as good as the original IMO

BTW, for the person who is watching Tsukihime, you might want to watch the more recent series made by the same authors: "Fate/Stay night". It is not as botchered down as Tsukihime, and the story is substantially better. Recommended

I finally found a post I made 3 years ago. The list is terribly outdated (it has probably doubled by now ) but you might like something of what I had watched back then

Edit: Oh yeah, I guess you could also check my list from AnimeNewsNetwork... it is still lacking a lot but it is a starting point

MMm btw Rurouni Kenshin - Reminisence seems like a really popular anime and with very high ratings.

Rurouni Kenshin - Reminisence is OVA from what i see. Is it necessary to watch Rurouni Kenshin so i don't get to much spoilers or risking not understanding a thing about it?

And search got these results.

Rurouni Kenshin
Rurouni Kenshin Movie
Rurouni Kenshin: Seisouhen
Rurouni Kenshin - Reminisence

In what order should i watch it, should i every intend to go get the anime? I notice the original one is already from 1995. And are 97 episodes....

Although you can watch the OVA without having watched the series, it is highly recommendable that you watch the anime beforehand, so that you can fully get the feelings the OVA try to convey, and so that you can fully understand why is it frequently rated as the best anime thing ever.

Watch the anime series first, then watch the movies/ova in whatever order you want.

Ah ok, thanks. Just the fact that the anime is 97 episodes and from 1995 didn't seem to appealing to me. But if people rate it such a good anime. I think i should just watch the full anime to really get why it's rated so good.

And some other anime i recommend

School Rumble:
I got this anime just because i saw it being recommended by people on this forum on a older anime thread. And being honest first 3 episode or so didn't seem to funny or to interesting nor did i liked Tenma. And the idea that shes is in love with someone like Karasuma actually turned me down even more.

But DAMN the more you watch the funnier it gets. And I'm already desperate trying to get School rumble 2 while i haven't even watched all 26 episodes from school rumble.

Air:
Anime about a boy looking for a girl in the sky. He travels around looking for her and makes money performing with a doll he got from his mother. Being honest with you. A story like this seemed silly to me. But something about this anime just made it really good. I cant really say what. But i do recommend it to ppl.

And the visuals/animations were really well done. And a adorable crew to

Heh... 1995 isn't even that far away... don't dismiss series just because they a little old. One of the best series I've seen (and the best space anime series I've watched) is Legend of the Galactic Heroes. A massive story with tens of characters, each one deeply developed, quite a number of factions and sub-factions that makes Gundam seem like a child's play, an excellent OST, etc. It's footage? 1980-1990, but that doesn't mean anything in front of one of the most beautiful masterpieces in anime history

I find that a lot of older anime is much better than current day anime.

A great example of a classic old school anime is Ranma 1/2. It's just a great, lengthy and hilarious anime with a story of romance and comedy.

But no anime series can beat those hentai... Those have more depth and uses a more creative "imagination" than other animations. But these are not for those who wants to live morally good though.

That's right, Ranma 1/2 was a classic masterpiece.

You shouldn't misjudge animes by it's design only, there are really good series nowadays too, you know? I personally like the current design better, but I do not dislike the old school.
On the other hand, animes are classified in different styles, so design should apropriate to them too, that's something you should notice (Example: Last Exile).
Furthermore, things tend to be beautier and design isn't perfect yet, I know it will get better for those who are futuristic. (Note: this is an opinion, not a judgement of the old-school lovers, because I kind of understand why they love old-school style)

I think that's kind of a wrong misconception, there are same styled animes as there were... You can find many series nowadays that are similar to the old ones. However, we should give more credit to the original idea, even if the newest copy (of the idea) is better.

(Personnally, I do not watch hentai, neither I find any interest, but I kind of like to see fan service scenes from time to time.)

Mmm yea, I agree that old doesn't has to be bad. Just that i got to spoiled with the current anime which are all really nice animated. Now of course i prefer a good anime plot/story over the looks of a anime. Just that looks and first impressions and things like that.. :P

I could bring myself to watching a good animated anime even if the story wasnt so good. But if it looks really awfull... I would just quit instandly.

One of the thing which turnd me down a lot on school rumble was also the design of tenma and karusma. I was like WTF ~~ i dragged myself true the first few episode's and than started rofl. So now i don't want this great anime to end. :P

Btw i see your watching Rurouni Kenshin caldron, what's your impression about the anime so far?

I'm watching Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha As atm. Quite interesting anime. Even tho i would of prefered Nanoha to be 18 instead of 9. :P

Next on list is Shakugan no Shana, And finishing School rumble Season 1

If you don't mind waiting in the upcoming 3rd season they will be 20 ... the 2nd season's events take place just some months after so you'll have to wait till then so that you get any time jump

Wrong, the manga interlude "Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's to Strikers" takes place 6 years after A's. However Strikers takes place some years after that.

As you can see we even have 4 new protagonists, and apparently the 3 heroines will take a seat back from the spot light. By the way the red haired child is Fate's (adopted) son

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex 1st GIG and the 2nd Gig too XD

This is one of those series that true animefans should not miss! I highly recommend it to all animefans. Basically, a investigative group called Section 9 that goes after illegal activity, for instant, class wizard hacker and terrorist, etc. This anime is filled with advance military weapons and hi-tech gadgets. And the Tachikoma, A.I. robo tank that can think like a human...

Quote:
In the future, life between the digital and physical world has been blurred. The boundary of technology and humanity has been stretched beyond imagination with lives being led in both the electronic and physical worlds. With the melding of man and machine – a new cybernetic level of existence is being created - An existence that continues to redefine mankind.
2nd GIG random scenes trailer

Ah ok. Either way I'm look forward to the 3th season of Magical girl Lyrical Nanoha. 3th season should be out early 2007. So can't be long anymore. Though would take sometime for fansubs service to pick it up. But either way i'm thankful that there doing it.
