Hmm... well it does have quite a weird directing style, which most people seem to dislike, ep1 that is. It does get better, if that's your main worry.

Yeah, I've watched those. They do fill lots of spaces there for the Summer section of the show.

Nice to see you liked AIR's ending. Personally, Aozora (the insert song they played during the final section of the show always gets to me whenever I hear it.

Began watching Clannad after story, loved the first episode, i loled so hard my mom was looking strange at me

, anyway i think my preference are starting to change, current top is: Gundam Seed, .Hack//Sign, Initial D, Air, Clannad, Saiunkoku Monogatari, Ah My Goddess (especially the movie), Black Lagoon, Love Hina, Macross 7, Mai Hime, Vandread, Kimi ga nozomu no eien.

Edit: Clannad After Story reached ep 8 loving it till now XD, gotta say that Okizawa guy is the one of the strongest male and best male lead i ever seen in a anime.

episode 1-4 were directed by some new director whiched sucked, after ep 4 they switched to a more known and better director. so its good starting at ep 5

If you ever regain your interest in anime, how about more anime from the same company, CLAMP? Card Captor Sakura is considered one of their better works, and it retains much of the light spirit of Chobits.

Suffice to say that it's probably the best the classic magical girl genre has to offer, and one of the best series from the 90's independently from genre.
