Well, I haven't watched Fist of The North Star, so I can't say much about it. Flame of Recca was pretty decent for me. The plot was quite nice with some twists in in it, and how the story flows was also quite enjoyable. Though, I can't say much on the graphic or the artwork. I don't know, the coloring was pretty... bland? And it was unlike other anime that tried to be flashy with colors, it somehow lacks in coloring department. Oh, and another minus for me personally was the theme song (I can't remember whether it was the ending or the opening).

But eh, this is a personal opinion mate, and you should spend time watching the early episodes then decide whether to go on or not.

I have been longing for a good quality anime myself, lately. The more I watch it, it becomes less appealing to me.Especially in artwork. I used to think that anime is better than Nick's cartoon (um... mind you I like some of them, and I'm not a cartoon hater, so peace ), because the detail used to draw background and characters. Gundam 00 was pretty entertaining to me, but mostly are quite disappointing (Gaiking was a major disappointment to me, but it may have been because I was hoping a lot from a remake of my childhood times ).

yeah the big negatives on the 2 series i mentioned are the aged artwork.
but i've noticed alot of new anime is very generic+predictable.
so i thought i'd take a stab at some older anime to see if they'll be more original.

i just watched the first episode of Fist of the North Star. and i'm still undecided if i'm going to continue watching it.
the reason is that its 152 episodes, and that'll take me about a month to finish.
when i watched one piece for 330+ continuous episodes, i started to dislike anime and had to take a 1~2 month break from it :/

Wow, 152 episodes? Really? I wouldn't watch it then I usually go for the shorter ones that end in 25 or so episodes, or at most 50-ish (Blood+ was a good example). That is why I don't watch Naruto or Conan anymore, and following the manga instead. It's tiring for me and I have less and less time watching it all. I guess the longer we are into something (in this case anime), the more we want it to be better and the higher our standards become. Even the Tale of Earthsea was not satisfying for me (despite it was the debut movie of Hayao Sensei's son). It's kind of like drug addiction the more you have it, the more dose you need to get that high sensation.

Btw, did you try Mushishi? It was a strange anime and with a weird theme, but I enjoyed it somehow.

so Fist of the North Star has been pretty good so far.
i mean its definitely 'dated' but at least its alot more original than most the anime thats been coming out in recent years.

its kept me entertained for 15 episodes so far, whereas alot of newer anime i've watched recently, i've dropped after ~5 episodes.

Flame of Recca suffers somewhat from bad Manga to Anime conversion syndrome....also I doubt most of you will like it...especially you cotton...because the main part of the story...is just one big fighters tournament...however whilst I would not exactly call it exciting or better it does have a different sort of pacing compared to today's fighting animes with a far more one track mind and a much more uncomplicated story...which however you may find too simple (and that fact that it loses bit from the Manga does not help as those are the only bits which provided even a slight amount of intrigue)....

Anyways I finnished School Rumble Season 2....and it was abysmal....
It starts out fun, and has quite possibly the best 3 School Rumble Episodes (the survival game) in it at the start...and then just breaks down into the same catastrophy as the previous season...basically just a bunch of random episodes consisting of character development which never develops into anything, or pure randomness, plain wrong moments, the mass and repeated killing of some jokes and random moments and then just some painfull to watch stuff (not painfull cuz it's sad...painfull cuz it's so bad)....
School Rumble is Henceforth the 7th biggest waste of time anime I have ever seen...
So from the bottom up that's:
Some Jungle Series with characters called Hale and Guu
Niea Under 7
Alien 9
RahXephon
Neon Genesis Evangellion
Serial Experiments Lain
School Rumble Season 1 and 2 <---- here's it's spot
Most .Hack shows aside from Signs which is fractionally better so it gets a slightly higher spot.

Anyways I started watching Azumanga Daioh...watching both dub and sub at the moment as I can't decide which I like more....although I think I will settle for the Dub despite the Kansai to Southern English conversion that I hate so much as I am struggling to differentiate the voices of the characters in the Sub.
Also still trying to somehow keep track of X which is hard to do cuz they keep on introducing new characters everywhere...plus I can just see all the doom and gloom the story is going to bring and I aint looking forward to all that drama so my progress is slow and I just about have to force myself to watch it.

Only if you like peacuful anime... Don't expect flying guys with huge swords flying around shooting energyballs out their butts But seriously, simply put its a peaceful fantasy/comedy/drama with trading and stuff, it does have some fighting but not really...

Spice and Wolf is a good anime, but most of it is about tradings and commerce. The plot or conflict circles around tradings a lot. I like it especially because of the op and ending songs. I suggest you check it out Squall

It was just a bad adaptation. The games were pretty decent themselves. Really, Type/moon adaptations hadn't had any luck till Kara no Kyoukai. If anyone has missed this set of movies, I'd HIGHLY recommend anyone to check them out. From action lovers to human introspection lovers, this thing is pretty cool for almost everyone I'd say.
