14-year-old Kolton Mahoney of Layton Utah was so excited when he received his brand new, factory sealed copy of Madden NFL 2007 that he wasted no time before popping the disc into his Xbox 360. What he saw when the game started was nothing short of shocking.

When the game disc started, Mahoney didn't see football, he saw an explicit - pornographic image. "This is definitely not Madden," said Mahoney.

The game, which was manufactured at EA's Redwood City, CA headquarters was bought at a California Circuit City store by the boy's uncle. Stephanie Nightlinger, spokeswoman for the electronics chain said that the company had recieved no other complaints, but would investigate.

After viewing the images contained on their son's disc, Mahoney's parents have contacted Utah's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which will work with police in both Utah and California to determine how the game was altered according to task force Lt. Rhett McQuiston. "The hard part will be finding out who did it," said McQuiston. "We'll give it a shot. I would through the roof if this happened to my kid."

EA has issued no comment regarding the incident.

I only post the news when it's something about porn.

What's going on lately? First it was the Zune with the gay porn already on it at purchase, now this. Why the hell would porn be on a Madden game anyways? Somebody must have been looking at porn while developing the game at EA and they might have accidentally slipped it in there but the games are mass produced so if that was the case then all of the games would have it in there. Or it could be a copycat of the Zune situation. It could have been a prank by a store employee who may have switched the game disc and factory sealed it himself.

His 14 and scored some porn...Should of waited a day before telling mommy and daddy.

Seems everything has porn on it these days. I bought a ice cream cone and instead of a cone it was just a hustler rolled up into a cone.

I own Madden 2007 for the Xbox 360, and have never seen any porn. I play it alot, too.

I really doubt if it was that obvious it would have past M$ QA.. and if it didn't pass QA, it is a unsigned executable, and therfore would not run. The only way I could think of there being porn is if it was a DVD with porn pictures on it, witch I think you would have to manually start the slide show.

For some reason I doubt the credibility of this. Probably another scam to get money. (Burned DVD with porn and a realistic label, anyone?)

it's probably a mislabeled disc. At disc manufacturing plants they stamp the disc and then add the labels. The disc was probably stamped with the porn and somehow accidentally made it's way to the Madden labeling stack...

mislabeled disk? unless it was put in the mass production line intentionally it doesn't have the chance of beeing mislabeled.

hmm, maybe, just maybe, an employee was looking at porn put on a blank disc, and when his boss neared he popped it out and threw it on the moving production rubber-band.

mislabeled can happen. I worked at a company where we produced cd's with software and the company responsible for pressing them made errors such as that several times.
In those cases though, there was usually more than one disk "faulty".
