It has a cute plot (boy/girl tension) and it's well acted and well written. I suppose it also isn't too abstract, and foreign audiences can comprehend it too.
But I watched it a few years ago and since then I've discovered a ton of anime that's much more interesting. |

Mm mainly that it's funny i guess. And ugh i guess the girls contributed to the popularity of the anime to :P
Tho i heard the manga is alot better than the anime. I have only watched the anime which imo is quite good.

i like it... but i like Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi more.. I can relate alot to Tina. Being a foreigner in Japan is difficult because no matter how japanese you act you will never be totally accepted as one of them. On first glance everyone assumes you can't speak any japanese and that you can't behave like a japanese person. Just my two cents.

Nothing makes it stand out. That's what makes it stand out.
It's a generic harem anime with the usual group of stereotypical characters. The plot is weak, the characters mostly unlikeable, and the individual episodes are forgettable. People "like" Love Hina for the same reason people "like" really bad movies. It is so campy and takes itself so seriously while failing miserably, that it becomes an underdog.

I don't think it was as bad as you say, allthough it wasn't the best thing ever either.
It's just a (silly) love story, has likeable characters, some good comedy (and some not so good), and half of the episodes is quite nice (mostly the first six and the last five or so, it's been a while so I don't remember exactly )The animation looked quite good for its time too, I guess, and it probably had the right combination of ingredients. The time around when it was released also helped a lot, I assume. and why is that? ![]() As funny as it is to say that, I'm pretty sure it's not the sole reason. An anime has to have at least somewhat of a decent story, or most viewers would lose their interest after episode 2. Last edited by Samor; January 5th, 2007 at 08:30. |

it may seem a "typical" and lacking plot, but if you've read the manga you'll noticed how the anime is completely differet from it.

which i too find extremely boring, i feel it to be the most destructive thing to love hina. But the humor is the best i've ever seen. If you have a sense of humor, you almost automatically love Love Hina, remember the plot... and the boobs :P... isn't all. And i don't understand your argument on the characters. WHy is this in any way a bad thing? people with lacks for once!! what the f** is stereotype about them? what? that they are much more like what real people are than in the "good movies"? what do you look on as good movies? the movies where every "good-guy" is near "perfection"? I find that characters in Love Hina to be every bit as realistic as they could be, with some twists (i do not mean i believe something like that happens in real life). Realistic characters is as far from the stereotypes as you can get.

And if i go to China, like this year, people talk to me in Chinese assuming i can speak it, while I'm like... wooshatalkingabout? Talking about a crapy position i'm in... Enough about my personal rants ![]() Guess life isn't always fair and i accepted those things long ago, and just try make the best of it. Same for the fact that i accepted that almost every guy here is about a head taller than me. ^^ And if you think of it, almost every anime serie has non Japanese looking characters.... There all either blond or brown hair or pink and purple... Funny how it doesn't look weird in anime, and when you see one in real life with pink or purple hair its like ZOMG.... So i find it a bit odd that Tina was suddenly like ooh you can speak japanese so well... Tho she did had a typical American like name iirc. Quote:

I saw Manga and Anime, it's kind of childish but you have worse... Galaxy Angel makes you die... But Love Hina is a Harem and School Life type, that's why... If you want to laugh of stupid illogical random animes watch to Azumanga Daioh or Puni Puni Poemy.
Oh well, but you should go and see Ah! My Goddess (that's my favourite) to know what's good xDD Urd just overrules everything that exists in the world... |
