While we're on it, isn't the war in Iraq and famine in around the world a cause of gaming.

I think Bush plays Battlefield 2 quite a lot.

What surprises me is they blame videogames while alcohol played a big part as well.

what surprises me is that they thought of video games being related to begin with. that has to be the stupidest non-jack thompson style theory ive heard in a while.

When I first read that I was thinking that they were playing video games while driving their car, but it's more blaming video game in the place of alcohol.

Seriously we should tell some of these people that Medal of Honor caused World War 2 and see how they react.

no they wernt literally playing while driving, they are pulling a jack thompson on us here. only difference is jack has nothing to do with this one.

seriously, these people are so out of touch with reality or are just plain out desparate for political gain that you could probably suggest to them that GTA is responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs and they would buy it and attempt to use it as means to run the industy into the ground.

Hmm... only blaming X-Box and PS2? Why not the GC? Oh wait... I guess mario kart can't give you any wrong ideas other than the extreme driving over banana peels.

I actually know a guy who nearly kills my friends and me everytime he drives us from point A to point B since he started playing NFS games... he's pretty immature, and sadly, even though they're a minority, it's guys like him who make morons think VGs are the cause of all pains

Videogames are a common scapegoat for everything nowadays.

I blame video games for the fall or Rome, clearly Age Of Empires caused the barbarians to invade Rome.

lol yeah
its mainly because its an easy target for politicians who are looking to gain votes and approval from the family-values aspect of people. adults and non-gamers will believe pretty much anything they say, true or not, simply becuase they know so little about the industy and how it works and why gamers play certain games to begin with.

I remembered when I first learned to drive, I was playing GTA: San Andreas when Im not learning. And when I actually get behind the wheel, I would have this feeling of driving on the sidewalk, or nailing a mailbox or two, and just basically hit something that wouldnt wreck my car. However i wasnt stupid enough to do it.
