Whose going to protect the little bastards when the teacher gets mad at little Jimmy for not doing his homework or when it's one of those days where the teacher is pmsing and gets fed up all of the kids' BS.

Seriously though, it's sad that you have to worry about your childs safety in school. As if there wasn't already enough to worry about. This world is getting out of control.

Implementing a proper security system would be better than arming people who may not be ready to respond appropriately.

yeah but you have to realize that you can have all the security in the world wheather its technologel or human, it can never prevent anything. the only things securtity and the laws do is discourage criminals or would-be criminals from doing what the do. it can never make them stop, if they have the intent, they will do what they need to do regardless of security, again, because security only discourages you it doesnt and cant prevent anything really. you could outlaw guns but no matter what you do, people with serious intent will find another way around, either it being bombs or even knives or something and completly ignore the law.

if teachers actually do what this article is about, we have a serious problem, a kid who may be contimplating some sort of violence may not do so due to the lack of acsess to guns or will wait until they do, but with teachers armed, your basically egging them on to do it, its an exterme form of tempation for them and if given the chace they would likely take advantage of it as they precive it as the only solution to their problems.this idea is absolutly retarded, you would basically be provideing the means and hardware to shoot people up, and that is reallly irresponsible, epsecially coming from adults.

It's such a stupid idea. They would HAVE to have the teachers properly trained to handle the firearms, more or less making it harder for teachers to get the jobs and I would assume current teachers would have to take a course on usage.

Stupid, stupid idea. Violence against violence just makes more violence, and gets people sued! ^_^

And just imagine if a teacher cracks and uses the gun as a provoking mechanism... or if a student nicks it...

I think we should just give everybody in America a gun.
