White & Nerdy

Hi guys! (BTW, I'm not back, not yet!)

Somebody just pointed out to me the new Weird Al Yankovic video, "White & Nerdy". You can watch it on YouTube here.

It's really, really funny for us geeks (it fits me all too well ).

For those who are curious, the equation in the background is Schrodinger's equations for the three dimensional case (although I don't recognize that hamiltonian; but that's a minor detail), so it's not nonsensical.

As a side note, I must point out that I won't be back here in a while again. I've been REALLY busy as of late (changing jobs 4 times, getting married, moving to another state... I had to let go most of my hobbies in order to keep reading scientific journals/magazines). I know that I owe a reply to a few emails - rest assured that I'll send them in due time.

See ya' around

I love Weird Al's stuff. I spent the whole summer listening to his Bad Hair Day cd when I was like 12. That was a funny album. I think it's been ten years since his last album. Took him long enough to finally come out with a new cd though.

Are you serious? Wow. Well, I guess his other albums didn't get as much exposure since the Bad Hair Day one. Oh, I've been living on planet Earth, but I've been living under a rock for a majority of that time.

I think Running With Scissors was released in 1999, at least that's when I think I got it.

Edit: I just saw the video and to say it bluntly, it's ****ing brilliant. Very well done .

dude, i think Running with Scissors got a lot of exposure. i mean bad hair day had that entire thing with coolio...but Running With Scissors was a really important album in middle school for me i used to see that star wars video from it all the time...i dunno, i think that album was one of his best.

but poodle hat SUCKED. SUCKED HARD. HARD, OLD, NASTY, DIRTY, STALE TOOTSIE ROLL POPS. GROSS!!! seriously, there was not even one good track on that album.

i might buy his new one...it's actually pretty good, and it's a dual disc with 5.1 and instrumental mixes, anddd a making of documentary.

yeah, this video kicks ass. this album seems pretty solid, but the last two were a bit... ehh... i won't say they downright sucked, cause i grew up on Al (...hrm... that might explain alot of things...) but they weren't as solid as the others. seemed more hinged on the parodies, and not the originals, and most of my favorite Al songs are his originals.
