I've not given their other stuff much time, so if you can recommend any of their albums with Barlow, it'd be nice. |

Something wicked is awesome. I haven't listen to all of dark saga, but question for heaven is one awesome song (esp if you are a spawn fan). I would recommend dracula from horror show, just an awesome freaking song.
Anyhow the band I was talking about is much more complacated guitar leads than iced earth, really nothing like them. Just taking an awesome voice to much better music will make his voice shine even more. Can't wait to hear it. On other news, I was at walmart and found a old 82 dvd for judas priest. I saw the concert before on tv, but since the GF is getting sick of me always playing the kamelot dvd, I got it. |

I don't know why I've never given Iced Earth enough time to grow on me. The fact that I own all their albums (even Tribute to the Gods) makes that fact even more criminal. Again, I've got to mention The Glorious Burden again as I've been listening to it again. Attila and Hollow Man are my favourites on that CD. The amount of negative attitude that CD gets just because of The Ripper is just insane. Quote:

And oh, I've mentioned Kiko Loureiro earlier, Cid even recognized his name. He is Angra's guitarrist. Here's a video of him playing one of his solo musics, Dillema. (I've posted this video in the spam section but no one commented on it, so I decided to try again. deserves special attention, hence kiko has an amazing hability, plus Dillema's melody is very cool too imo). K guys, I'm in the middle of processing my Graveworm videos which I made monday. The concert was ****ing awesome, like all of them were! I managed to have a chat with Stefan as soon as we arrived at the venue, so I gave him a cd with the first Graveworm concert I've ever been (oktober 2004) of which we made audio recordings. Also I gave him a cd with the videos and pictures of Blikfest, a couple of months ago.
I asked them if it would be cool to make some videos again, seeing how Fear of the Dark got over 16.000 views by now. It wasn't a problem at all, not even of the songs of the new album they'd be playing. So that's what I did, I recorded two songs of their soon to be released album, and I have to say: THEY ROCK! Suicide Code is somewhat like a mix between the old stuff and (N)Utopia. It's brutal, but at the same time the piano gives it some emotional swing to it. The other song I don't know the title of, but it was even more aggressive, certainly something of the likes of Legions Unleashed ![]() So Mire, make sure you get your hands on the new album ![]() After the gig we waited a bit to get a picture with the entire band. That's when we got to chat with Sabine and Harry again. Sabine is a real lovely girl, very spontaneous, which is kinda hard to imagine for a girl playing in a band like Graveworm. I got surprised in the same way when I managed to sneak backstage while carrying one of their guitars for Harry (I just wanted to speed things up for the foto ) and that's where I got to talk to the drummer for the first time. For such a raving madman on stage, he sure is very quiet and even a bit shy in some way in real life. Tracklist (order might be messed up a bit): 1. a new intro 2. I - the Machine 3. Legions Unleashed 4. Nutopia 5. Unhallowed by the Infernal One 6. Dreaming into Reality 7. Hateful Design 8. Suicide Code 9. Never Enough Zugabe: 10. New song #2 11. ****ING ABHORRENCE!! ![]() No covers were played this time, but we still enjoyed the show a lot. Not the largest pit I've seen either, but I did enjoy my time in there. Broke my shades though ![]() Anyway, I was too busy headbangin' so I completely forgot to make any pictures, I only have two videos and a picture of me and Sabine, and the guys and Harry. ps. I would love to know about any program that can edit WAV files and isn't too picky about the source. I want to edit some of the audio and mix it back into the video, it's just adjusting some of the equalizer bands since the vocals aren't clear enough. The file I have is a 512kbps ,33.1kHz mono wav file btw. |

@ Cid, audacity is quite good, I use it for simple sound editing, it's quite good for editing entire songs as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep it in mind. It turned out Magix Audio Editor 2.0 differs from a 5 year older version in a way that there's both "Open Audio File" and "open audio project" now, whereas it used to be one "open file" thing.

Hey Cid, I don't know if your budget is down with this, but you should get (google these): Core Sound Binaurals (mics), a battery box (for high SPL recording levels) and some sort of recording device (probably DAT, but that's way expensive, you might go for MD or even analog cassette).
What you can do with these CSB's is stick them on your hat brim or glasses or your collar, and they are binaural, not stereophonic. What that means is that when you listen to the recording on headphones, you get a 3D sound field, just like it was when you were there. But what it REALLY means is much much better audio quality! I've watched your videos, but I'm put off by the sound quality. I've heard some damn good recordings off CSB's, and I would definitely download and listen to the shows you go to if you taped them with some gear like that. And then, as a bonus, you could sync that file up to your video, and that would be pretty sweet ![]() As for audio programs, try Cool Edit Pro (that's the old version of Adobe Audition), you can resample, EQ, etc. But uh 512kbps is way low bitrate for WAV. WAV's are containers for LPCM audio (Linear Pulse Code Modulation)...the linear part means that every single bit gets the same amount of into, unlike MP3 or other codecs that can adjust. CD quality audio (16bit, 44.1khz) is 1411kbps, even if you have 33.1khz (you sure it's not 44.1 or 32?) it shouldn't be down to ~500kbps...unless you have like an 8bit file or something? :/ |

Well the 512kbps wav is what my camera records it in (after having saved it as WAV with VirtualDub), and it's how you hear it in my videos. Personally I think my sound is better than 90% of the live videos out there mainly because it's able to deal with the level of volume out there
![]() I googled them and according to their website they should cost over a 200 USD I'm sure they create some great recordings, but to me it's really not worth the money, seeing how I'm not really aiming to be professional with the videos. They just make a nice souvenir of every gig I attend.

Well at the mo I'm trying to get the money for those...I figure that maybe you could spend nearly $1000 in the short run, but then again, you'll be using this stuff AND listening to these recordings for years and years. I think if you go to a lot of shows, it will really pay off after some time when you can look back and say "wow, that was a really kickass recording."
Well, that's just my view anyway...hopefully within the next couple of years you'll start seeing shows taped by me

![]() heeeey, i came here to discuss with you guys about a thing... What happened to Linkin park? About 4, 5 years ago, I was a big Linkin Park fan. Used to like all songs, had all cds, including bootlegs. Then I went listening to more mature, elaborated sounds, that's when I found the metal world, leaving the pop/soft music aside. Plus after their album with jay-z, i've really lost respect for them (so its not only you TCOS ). But some nostagia has gripped on me so I had to relisten some of their musics.Ok, longing ceased, I've found their new album, Minutes to Midnight. I thought of giving it a try... man, I am SURPRISED. It's not the linkin park I've listened before, their sound is different. And for good I suppose. There's no more Shinoda crap - the cd is like 85% rock, 15% hip hop. That pleases me since I've never liked the hip hop sound (though it really helped my english). They have also added more instrumental parts in their musics, sounding like a rock band. Chester's voice is more balanced, no more spicy-irritating-deafin screams. He even sings like quietly and mildly in some songs. Plus I've noticed a lot of back-vocal actions during some songs. Guitar distortions are sounding more melodic and less agressive, giving the music a better feeling. Spotlights on Wake (first song, instrumental. Note the guitars, they're different), No More Sorrow (HEAVY, a very nice song) and Little things you give away (ballad). I am still trying it, but so far those are the ones I got in love instantly. It's disturbing for me because it doesn't sound like Linkin Park lol. If you had your preteen time with Linkin Park, and you're now almost as an ancient dude reaching the 18 (and musical mature), facing Minutes to Midnight, feel free to make your input.
