Oh dude that rocks

Anyone who doesn't know the metal gear solid story well might miss a few things, but it's still pretty decent. I used to play it all the time, haven't in a while though.

I'm gonna replay the MGS series as well, but I'm waiting for subsistence, so I can start off with part 1....the really old part 1
(yes, I can use an MSX emulator but there's some changes in the rerelease)

One of my favourite gaming memories is playing through Metal Gear Solid the first time. It didn't hit me as much as Final Fantasy VII, but boy it rocked. The MGS series is awesomeness defined (how about that for a superlative.)

Well that and ... check my avatar/sig...

i dunno what hit me harder. FF7 came first for me, and that was the second RPG i ever played (after mario RPG). FF7 really amazed me at the time, because of the graphics, and the "making choices" type gameplay. but i dont know...MGS came at me with its amazing graphics, the stealth gameplay (my favorite part was SNEAK THAT ****! and then "**** i totally didnt expect that!" because that really happened to me). i felt that, when MGS came out, it was totally ahead of its time. i didn't expect to do any of the things that i did in that game. i finished it the first time in like 16 hours with the ass-crappiest rating ever, but man, it changed my life.

and another thing about MGS, it's soooo easy to make fun of. which leads to kick ass animations like this one, Metal Gear: Fiesta, and Crab Battle (my top 3 favorites).

I hated MGS the first time that I played it. A friend of mine loaned me the game. I played for about thirty minutes, and decided thatI'd give it back to him the next day. He insisted that I keep playing. I did and I fell in love with the game. Pure magic. I was totally immersed.

Like Industrian, FF7 hit me much harder, but this was a notable gaming experience.

Same experience here. I am always the sneaky kind of person, I first try to figure out an enemy's pattern before I rush into things. I got a crappy rating as well and didn't even save Meryl, so the first thing I did was starting the game all over again. And I don't complete a game 2 times in a week normally. Even though I didn't play it when it came out, this game is a true masterpiece.

lol my friend show me that before. yea well Im not a MGS fan at all, but if I were to try to play the game, I think I will like it. Maybe iono thinking about it right now just makes me wana play becuz it reminds me of Splinter Cell. Well now that I think about why don't I just go play Splinter Cell, but I don't have the game. If I were to think about Splinter Cell and go play MGS 1 or 2 I don't think it would be satisfying.
