Would this strengthen kevlar?

Hey, this is a question I was pondering since my high school days (5,000 years ago when the pyramids were still young, lol), what if kevlar was silicon based instead of carbon based? Would that make it stronger or just heavier and less durable? I havent touched a chemistry book since 2003 so I forgot alot of my chem knowledge.

Well if it would make it stronger, don't you think they would have thought of it by now? P.S. My motto is:

"If you've just thought about it now, someone has already thought about and implemented it 5 years earlier."

Teh, I don't know if it will make it stonger or not, that's why I'm asking.
P.S. this is my motto: "If you've just thought about it now, ask to see if it has and not float through life wondering what could have been."

EDIT: If Thomas Edison went by your motto, he wouldnt have invented the light bulb or discovered anything else, same with other inventors

Either that or someone at the United States Armed Forces now has realised another thing to spend with their $400 billion a year.

It wouldn't Carbon would have a stronger and more stable molecular bond compared to silicone that's why we are carbon based instead of silicone based

Well I'm just syaing in this day and age when most of the elements have been fairly well tested and alot of scientific idea have been thought of many of the ideas that people have spare the truly brilliant people have already been thought of. I see it all around me. Lots of people I know think they have these great ideas. Turns out they are pretty great, but that they have already been implemented or thought of before. I'm just saying it's hard to come up with a truly unique idea.

But if carbon based stuff has a stronger bond, why do silicon boobs not hang after a couple of years?

Carbon would have a stronger nucleic pull on it's outer shell of electrons than Silicon since it has one less shell of electrons. Therefore, carbon bonds should be stronger than Silicon ones.

Forgive my rudimentary chemistry knowledge.

First of all, sorry if I sounded angry, that wasn't my intention. I see what you mean. I didn't think it would hurt to ask, thats all.

I think you guys are confusing silicon and silicone. Two totally different materials.

Silicon is an element, more specifically a semiconductor.

Silicone is an inorganic polymer that doesn't conduct electricity or heat, used in many things, breast implants to name one. They contain silicon atoms, but aren't made up of silicon.

Hehehe. Dang if the vest was made of "Silicon" and you were shot with a stun gun, how much would that hurt? Ouch!
