Who here is anal about your case?

Just out of curiosity, who here is fairly anal about their case? Like, wiring, perfect mount points, etc. Basically, to sum it up, obsessed about how it looks inside. I'm just curious because it really seems that most the PCs in the "Leet Systems" thread are actually kind of messy. I zip-tie everything. I couldn't stand it if it didn't look good. Anyway, just curious who shared that view.

By the way, this is my first post, but i've actually been floating around this site since the EARLY psxemu.com days. (So like 7 years or so.) I've just been to lazy I guess to sign up and post. Anyway, good to meet you all.

For a long time reader I thought you would've had a more sensible name . Heh, just jokes... I think.

As for the case I couldn't care less what it looks inside. Though as one of my old friends says, "If it looks good, its all good."

I don't really pay attention to the look of the inside, as long as it isn't to seriously messy that it compromises airflow or something. I generally like my life, and by extension my hardware, to be as chaotic as possible . My CoolerMaster Stacker doesn't have any of the dront panels in, and there is random hardware scattered all over the room lol

Mine was when I first built it. Since then I've had so many times when I've had to have it open it's just got messy.

In fact, the last thing that went wrong was a loose wire in the power button on my case, I was unable to fix it so rather than shelling out for a new case I just hooked the reset button to the power connectors on the motherboard. I don't have a hard-reset function anymore sadly though... If I ever need it I can always hook what's left of the power button up to the reset connectors on the motherboard then touch the buttons wires physically to the metal of the case... seemed to work last time...

I have cable ties, a modular power supply and a MATX case. So I guess yeah, I am. If you're gonna have a window, might as well make it tidy.

I tie stuff up, bunch them nicely together, etc but don't go out of my way to arrange everything. As long as it looks tidy. Helps with the constant swapping.

Same.... I don't need to pimp my pc, put neons and lights in it so I can look at pretty(?) fans spinning around.
I'm not even sure that if I'd get a new PC, I'd build it myself again =P

yeah, my name does suck, but hey, it's a username i've had for years. like, 10, at least. i'll think of something better soon enough. So, I guess it's just me, I work on computers all day, (Computer Technician) so I am really proud of my work, which is probably where i started to do that. I just like a clean case.

the rest is in "User CP" (at the top of the page on the left).

I may want everything wrapped up neat and nice (for both appearance and airflow), but I'll be damned if i'll have lights in it. I hate having lights on my PC, I have a blue 120mm on the back of mines and it's just ugly and off putting. Then again I had UV lights on my old watercooled rig and it looked fandango.

Meh, i've never liked lights much, windows are nice though. I plan to get a windowed case soon, but for now it's just a plain white one.

when it comes to a case, all that matters to me is that it has enough room to work. and that it's not pink or any other bizarre colour.

I don't have any perfernce, my roomate painted his green, heh that was when had paint left over from painting his enigne block tho and he did a good job so it doesn't look distatseful.

I keep it as tidy as I can, but since I have big IDE ribbon cables and lots of power leads, its hard to get it absolutely tidy.

I don't care about my case at all, I'm too lazy to even put the sides back on it. Why bother when I have to open it up again anytime soon. As long as the thing works I'm pretty darn happy because I usually don't have much luck with computers.
