My first: an IBM 386 loaded with 4 MB RAM, a 55 MB HDD and Dos 5.0. It never handled Windows 3.1 very well though.

Shame on them, they didn't wait those two weeks to get the 440BX in the first place . That is one tall case though, must be pretty loud with the fans in the 5.25 inch bays.

I miss ZDTV.....

first PC: (purchased circa 1993 for $2000) 80486 33 mhz, 32mb ram, video accelerator (no RAM), 350 MB hard drive, CD-Rom (2X), DOS 6.2 w/ Windows 3.11

second PC: (pieced together in 1997) Pentium 90mhz, 48mb ram, video accelerator (no RAM), 2 GB hard drive, CD-Rom (16X), Win95

third PC: (purchased $1450 in 2000) Athlon 1100mhz, 128mb ram, 32mb nVidia TNT2 Ultra, 8X4X32X cd burner, 8X dvd drive, 60Gig hard drive, Windows ME (CRY)

fourth (current) PC: (about $900 in 2003) see specs below.

I remember playing starcraft on that old Pentium 1. and doom on the 486. some of the greatest experiences EVER. The old games still don't work properly on XP. I actually reconstructed a P1 133mhz system with old parts to play some older games I liked. I used electrical tape to hold the floppy drive in cause the BIOS won't boot without it.

I would have loved to just have a SCSI hard drive . 10,000 RPM for 1998 is pretty good. I was on some 386 or 486 until the later part of 1998, which then I finally had access to a Pentium machine (my Packard Bell ).
