I have a problem, and it's called "Bush." I doubt you can do anything about him, though.

actually, i think there was a problem with both the board and psxemu.com the other night

at first i thought it was my ISP acting up again but those were the only two pages that gave me trouble so i assume there was heavy traffic

Cool

Yeah, there was something screwy going on with the company that hosts this site... I haven't heard what it was, but the boards were down for a few hours. :/

J is the square root of -1, does that help Betamax?

I see what you mean Betamax, i've looked on the web and there are sites that refer to 'i' as root of -1, but in my old tech college notes (going back a few years now) we used a lower case j. Don't understand it now though, you forget things if you *DONT* keep your skills up.

yeah, it can be reffered to as either i or j since the script looks the same..
i believe the j either refers to the vector in imaginary cartesion coordinate plots or another engineering convention..

"jehova starts with an i.."

Do you, now? You know, I've always noticed the opposite to be true.

actually, the "j" was implimented for electronics since the letter "i" was already being used by current (how they got "i" to be current, is beyond me) but, both are acceptable forms of numbers that dont exist yet still have relevant uses

Does it really matter whether you use i or j? Either way, it's an imaginary number, so you're just designating some letter to take its place. It's not like j or i have a different value or anything (although I must admit, i's are written much faster). I personally used i, but I don't see why it should be any different from variables.

i can write j's much faster than i's, or about the same in written english,

you can loop them [j's] from the bottom, i's require more hand control.

Not sure bout that, but I think I comes from Intensity for the current...
As for m2's answer, j in fact requires less control than i and is usually easier to write.
